We live and I work just outside of the lockdown area, but even where I am right now, there's almost no one on the roads and absolutely no predestrians.

I hate to be this "real" but I gotta tell you I think this is stand-alone. 3 casualties with 2 bombs? That's really not up to Al-Queda's organized standards.... They ended up causing 33% of those casualties again with one bullet for that poor soul at MIT. I'm pretty sure you could be more efficient if you lit up an end of year sales event at a used car lot....
Now he's barricaded, a known explosives participant. You think there's any chance they are going in there and risking that? He's a dead man, and good riddance.

Just a guess here, but from what I've read and heard I get the impression the older brother was an angry young man who wanted to play big-time terrorist and the younger brother went along for the ride.

Yeah, there was a risk of sounding insensitive, I'm not failing to understand the wounded or the dead, and certainly not disrespecting them, but if those bombers put half the training and preparation into this as the first responders in Boston do to being great at their job, this would have been a lot worse.
And seriously, kudos to those EMTs man, what they did there borders on a medical miracle... Go from Zero to "125-150 people need immediate attention, and many have life threatening injuries" in a blink, and I heard something that said they had them all patched and in transit procedures within 15 minutes of the first blast??? That's logistics and efficiency on a level that's difficult to even imagine.
I guess he's not barricaded? I thought they had a house surrounded, but now they are making it sound like they are still hunting for him.
Stay safe Artie, they'll nail this clown soon I would assume. Hopefully we have no need for anything but an autopsy after they do. I'd hate to see Mass. citizens pay for this idiot for upwards of 15 years to life with Electricity, Shelter, Water, Food, and clothes....

Good to hear you are safe, and not quite as inconvenienced as some.
I am opposed to the death penalty, but there are several cases where guilt is so apparent and the crime so heinous that I wouldn't mind too much if the perpetrator wound up dead during the process of capture.
But that said, the way things are going with this one, it sounds like it will be advantageous to get this last kid alive. The boys father is saying his kids have been set up, and all the interviews I have read with people who knew them, with the exception of one uncle who hasn't seen them in years, say the kids were very nice peaceful people.
For the sake of quashing any conspiracy theory any more insidious than "two brothers went nuts and hurt a bunch of people", I hope they get this kid alive.

I'd be stunned if they can capture this last guy alive. Sadly, I'd be equally stunned if this ends before another civilian or member of law enforcement also dies. Assuming this kid did the same as his brother and strapped on an explosive vest before they left home last night, he's not planning on being arrested.

They convinced him to surrender. Great work.

Apparently, what happened was the suspect was hiding in a boat in someone's back yard. The resident saw blood on the outside of hs boat, went out to check on his boat and called the cops, and they got him after a shootout.

I haven't read any confirmation that the older one had an explosive vest on.
I think they suspected it because the police found a trigger device on the guy who was killed.

What's stunning is how Boston is using this entire episode as another excuse to say "We're better than everyone else" because we stayed inside and watched on television while the police tracked down and captured Thing 2.
