Adams to the DL. Huh?
After an exam by team physicians Thursday revealed a strain where the Cardinals and rookie Matt Adams hoped there would only be irritation, the club elected to place Adams on the 15-day disabled list Friday.
Adams spot on the DL is backdated to Monday, when he first felt what was described as a tightness or soreness in his right oblique.
Adams has been diagnosed with a slight tear in the oblique.
Cardinals manager Mike Matheny said the first time he went on the disabled list as a player was with the same injury. He suggested Adams and the team will need to show patience.
"The harder you push that injury, the longer you're going to be sitting," Matheny said.
During his time in Class AA Springfield, Adams had an oblique strain cause him to miss three weeks of the 2011 season.
"I was having a hard time getting anyone to tell me (Adams) would play this weekend," Cardinals general manager John Mozeliak said.
"So, you're looking at Monday, and then does he need a couple of days, because he needs to get his swing back? I don't think it will be an extended (amount of time)."
To take Adams place on the 25-man roster, the Cardinals are promoting utility infielder Jermaine Curtis. He will also be added to the 40-man roster today.

Can we have Sanchez back in the game please?

The Cardinals are going to lose this game. If Sanchez hadn't been tossed, they would have won.

Hughes has a very unusual gait. It looks like he might have a daiper rash or something.

He's there so Jon Jay won't have to answer any more questions about Jackie Robinson.

Right now, he's a turd at the bottom of a trash pile in a landfill in a nuclear waste area.

Josh Beckett sucks. Not Ramon Oritz no-hope-in-hell sucks. He's good enough to make you think he doesn't suck, but as soon as you gets your hopes up, he reminds you he sucks. Which sucks, because the Brewers need to start losing again soon so they don't forget they suck.

I really didn't think the Cardinals would get off to this kind of start. Playing 15 of your first 21 on the road at Arizona, San Francisco, Philadelphia and Washington is a good way to start off under .500.
