I'm watching Reds-Natinals and Brennaman is in rare form.
"The WRITERS voted Bryce Harper Rookie of the Year, but the PLAYERS voted Todd Frazier Rookie of the Year!"
That's great, Thom. Really, it is. But Harper had 57 extra base hits as a 19-year-old and he didn't do it in a crackerjack park.

If the Cardinals had a time machine I wonder if they would've made a play for Denard Span. The catch he just made on a Cozart liner was beautiful.

lol, he hasn't done it yet that I've heard.
Now he's offended at Espinosa getting cute with the turn at second base and one-hopping it to LaRoche, even though he had to hurry the throw because Bruce was barreling in and Heisey was closing in at first.

Why did Matheny yank Westbrook? He was doing fine.
Now the Cardinals bullpen has to outlast the Pirates bullpen, which only has something like a 2.00 ERA.

Time to quit dicking around and fix the bullpen. This isn't about roles, pressure or anything except the fact that most of these guys aren't good pitchers. Rosenthal and Kelly will learn, but right now they aren't the answer.

The only reliable relievers right now are Mujica and Choate. I feel badly for Rosenthal because he's been put in a situation for which he's not nearly ready.

Carpenter has an injured oblique. Given how poorly Descalso is playing the time may be near for Wong.

idk how they can do this. They would need about 4 new pitchers.
