Goold says its going to be Martinez.
Gast will probably be up, too. Strauss said Boggs won't be the last one to go down.

Speaking of prospects, Passan's writeup today makes me feel pretty dang good about this franchise:

"speculates one NL executive ... "They will have room when they trade Wacha to Cleveland for Asdrubal Cabrera."
Pissa ...

A few commenters strongly disagree with this idea, but I'd agree the concept - and its attribution to "one NL executive" - is unsettling. Hopefully the source is someone like Dusty Baker's Manager of Eye Black and Sunblock Distribution.

Jim Bowden, a former GM who now writes for ESPN, recently did a piece on why the Cardinals were going to trade Taveras for Profar. I put little stock in stupid comments like that.

Passan addressed the unlikelihood of a Profar/Taveras trade by saying teams never trade prospects for prospects. I wouldn't say never because I recall Wallace going from Oakland to Toronto for one of the Jays' prized minor leaguers, but it's at least uncommon.

"Dusty Baker's Manager of Eye Black and Sunblock Distribution."
That's a part-time position.
