Matheny is basically punting today's game. No Beltran; no Carpenter.
1. Jay
2. Robinson
3. Holliday
4. Craig
5. Molina
6. Freese
7. Descalso
8. Kozma
9. Garcia

That 3-2 pitch to Craig was never in the zone. Terrible, terrible at-bat.

Estrada's got his change working pretty well. Molina swung through a fat 90 mph fastball like it was 99.

Holy hell Milwaukee fans are dumb.

Well that escalated in a hurry.

Against Los Angeles, July 15-18, 2010.

Six outs from a six-game winning streak. And they would be 20-11, just like last year.

How long can they realistically carry Wigginton? I know I ask this all the time, but he's not on this team by the ASB right?

I didn't see any of today's game, but I just saw some of the highlights. Why would a team that doesn't have 100 years of history wear 100 year throwback jerseys?

Not if he's hitting .130.

Why did the Cardinals wear pajamas today?

There was apparently a Triple A team called the Milwaukee Brewers in 1913. And 100 years later the present Milwaukee Brewers honored them by playing like a Triple A team all weekend.
It seems like every time the Cardinals go to Milwaukee, there's some dumb promotion that forces the Cardinals to dress like idiots. Last year, they made them wear those goofy powder blue uniforms to celebrate the 1982 World Series, the loss of which is the high-water mark of the Brewers' franchise.

they have that curtis guy on the bench to. I dont know a thing about him other then matheny isnt using him. Of the 13 position players allowed on the roster really the cardinals are only using 11. in this case i wouldnt mind them carrying an extra arm.

Curtis can play the corners in both the infield and outfield. He's probably a better bet going forward than Wiggy at this point.

He's not using Cruz much either. Yadi has started 30 of 31 games. I understand he's the most valuable player on the team and keeping him in the lineup while he's hitting .325, but if MM only gives him one day off every month, he's going to be sawdust by August. I nearly puked today when he got hit on the hand batting in an 8-1 game.

I didnt knkw that. I assume adams will be back soon now that he is on rehab and curtis will get shippedback. I agree that anything is better then wigginton. Even miles would be more usefull.

Adams is due back Tuesday in Chicago. They won't do it, but the Cardinals should go ahead and hand Wigginton his walking papers. Eat the $5 million and move on. I mean, Garcia embarrassed himself less at the plate today.

i expect backup catchers to be a wasted roster spot. Especially when a future hofer is the everyday guy. I agree with you about playing time tho. Mm has got to get molina off days and he needs to keep giving days to holliday and beltran to. Maybe more then what he has been doing. As tk said the record is the same now as it was last year.. so what can mm do different this year then last. Imo, keep the hitter from slumping for months at a time. I like how he has not given into the pressure from freese to play him more.

Good point. They need a gnome to scare away the small animals. Is is a coincindence that rally squirrel stuff started happening after Miles left?

Not being able to hand the ball to Victor Marte, Mikael Cleto and/or J.C. Romero should be worth 4-5 games.

Figure out a way to get games at Wrigley off the schedule.

Are the Cubs playing a makeup game tonight, or is Texas just dropping by on its way to Milwaukee?
