I'm unsure why the Cardinals 1-2-3 hitters failed to at the very least hit the ball 120 feet away off Garland.

It's impossible to watch a baseball game and a hockey game at the same time.

So don't watch the hockey. Duh.
Nice jack by Beltran.

Not sure what the Bruins are playing right now technically qualifies as hockey.

58 pitches to get 7 outs. The always-efficient Jon Garland ...

That inning is what Steve Kline would refer to as a dry hump.

Someone tell Tulowitzki he wouldn't have to deal with that if he finagles himself onto the Cardinals roster.

Wow. A Steve Kline reference. Well done, sir.

I have a few.
Miller's straight-ahead fastball looks pretty good tonight.

If Miller had just spent some more time in Memphis his ERA would be less than 1.

And the Cardinals starting pitching would have been so much better with Porcello or Norris.

Porcello is sporting a gentleman's 7.50 ERA. The good news is he dominated in his last start. Against the Astros.

Yeah, but that's in the AL. That translates to 0.76 in the NL.

Miller's velocity is increasing.

WHY ARE THEY MISSING THESE STRAIGHT-AHEAD FASTBALLS????
In all seriousness, time to head to the bullpen.

This is really, really impressive. He's overmatched two of the best hitters in the league tonight.

Also, the best road offense in MLB.

I really don't get why Shelby Miller is consistently to allowed to throw over 100 pitches, even when there are six outs and a 3-0 lead, while Jake Westbrook was yanked after 91 pitches and six innings in that Pittsburgh series. There's absolutely no method to Matheny's bullpen usage.

Will Reid Brognac play his entire career without ever being on a fantasy baseball team?

No idea why Rosenthal is throwing right now, unless he's pitching the ninth.

Agreed. I had no problem with the decision to send Miller back out for the 8th, but his handling of other games is bizarre.

Would it be wrong of me to have Chad send Matheny a message that my fantasy team needs Mujica to get some saves?

One of these days, Rosario is going to spike himself back there.
