No, I am openly rooting for you to do this.

Yes. Because I have Miller on my team.

Fantastic. Matheny is giving his guys a chance to pursue individual achievements, even though this particular guy is 22 and has never thrown over 160 innings and might, just might, be needed come August and September.

Don't be selfish. Mujica can preserve Miller's win.
Let me guess. None of your fantasy baseball buddies know any rookies outside of Pawtucket.

Friggin' Miller. What a shitty at bat.

Resting Strasburg worked well for the Nationals. Besides, we'll have Carpenter back by August.

This isn't entirely about base runners. This needs to be about a 10 pitch inning.
Thanks Rutledge.
5 pitches. 2 outs.
8 pitches. Wow.

I forgot about the Norris trade that will be feasible, too.

I don't know where they're from. My buddy who got me into the league lives in Georgia, and I think there are at least a couple of West Coast guys. Someone snagged Taveras from right under my nose, so they get around a bit.

So who gets the Hungo tonight?

Not sure there's anyone left to mock. That was just outstanding pitching. I'm glad I got to witness it.

That was pure dominance.

If it had been a 5-run lead, I would have agreed with you.
The way he's dominated a pretty good lineup tonight, I think Matheny could have left him out there for another three innings before the Rockies started getting to him.

I've never seen anyone retire 27 guys in a row. How often has that happened?

I'm just wary of running young guys out there every other time out to throw 110 pitches. Lynn was run out there last year to throw over 100 pitches nearly every time he took the mound (16 of his first 24 starts) and he was fried by August. An arm like Miller's shouldn't be taken for granted. Even though tonight was pretty damn special, I'd like to see them be a little more cautious about his usage going forward, especially because this looks like a team that could go deep in October again.

I didnt get to see the game but millers preformance sounds impressive. I cant help but wonder what happen to this kids. For a guy who was supposed to be prone to losing focus he isnt doing bad.

Miller's issue was never focus, it was maturity. He supposedly fell in love with his fastball an wouldn't throw his secondary pitches. It looks like the adversity he dealt with last year (along with a no-shake rule) straightened him out. He was brilliant last night. And post-game, he was quick to credit Molina.
Miller is far from the first 20-21 year old who who needed to grow up a little. The good thing is it sounds like he finally realizes that he can learn from others with more experience.

I didn't see him shake Yadi once. Of course, Yadi would have probably called time and beaten him up if he had, but he executed Yadi's game plan.
