6:05 start to accomodate ESPN.
Also, Rick Ankiel signed with the Mets and will start tonight.

No Matt Harvey in this series. Wonder if CubFan will think there's a conspiracy between Terry Collins and the Cardinals to keep the Cubs from getting a wild card spot.

Dammit. Put CDT when necessary, please. I hopped to the TV thinking I'd missed the first half hour.
[shoot, nevermind, TK. I thought Artie posted that]

Ugly but he got out of it.

I would never want to pitch to Matt Holliday

Molina is a tremendous hitter. I can't believe it but he is.

Just more awful baserunning. Inexcusable.

That's not on Oquendo; it's just another baserunning boner by a team that has low baseball IQ.

Ankiel....draws a walk.

He just struck out. He is finding his groove as a met.

It was nice to hear the color guys give some heartfelt credit to Ankiel's talent as a pitcvher, after ESPN decided they were going to portray his career as pitcher as "freak of the week".
I need to leave for a gig, but so far this is an awful baseball game. This could be the Cubs versus the Astros, except for the uniforms.

I hate Beltran.

Hrabosky: "All these innings by the starters is going to make the bullpen ineffective."
Grammar aside, when has the bullpen been especially effective?

Wiggy might be the best baserunner on the team.

That was Wigginton's "Gary Bennett moment."

I was thinking about starting a contest for when he'll hit his next home run.
I'm going with April 5, 2015, when he plays in the Yorba Linda Slow Pitch Softball League.

If Rosenthal ever gets comfortable with that change up, it won't be fair.

Ankiel v. Rosenthal - This is either going to be a 500 foot home run or three hapless strikes.

Is it wrong if I root for a 1-2-3 inning so Mujica gets a save opportunity?

Matheny has a death wish for his pitchers.

124 pitches for Lynn and he still needed three relievers to get six outs. Did he let his starters go this long last year when the bullpen was struggling at the beginning of the season?

Since madess has showed up the bullpen hasnt been that bad. It has been excellent as i recall. Boggs is doing well in memphis. He has need these get right trips before. If he can come back and rock and roll i think the pen will settle down. Then if carp can pitch that is another person i see adding alot of knowledge. Joe kelly is the guy that needs a teip to memphis imo.

I'm going to wait a while longer before I pronounce the bullpen cured.
The umpteenth Carpenter comeback would be a nice story, but for now I'm going to treat him like I would a unicorn. I'm not going to believe until I actually him out there.
