6/9 GC

Eh-hem . . . hey guys, the game is about to start, and this is one I can watch.

Re: 6/9 GC

Not sure if anyone else is watching, but they just showed the play that ended yesterday's game and seeing it again, there no doubt in my mind Beltran was safe.

Re: 6/9 GC

And that Cuzzi ignored his calls for help.

I thought that conversation was interesting, because it should put MLB on alert about Cuzzi.  They obviously can't say, "Cuzzi is a vindictive jackass who will hold Matheny's tirade against the Cards tonight."  So saying, "You hope that he won't hold that against the Cards and say, that's a close pitch so I'll call it against the Cardinals," was pretty strong stuff, in a G-rated and heavily self-consored world, I thought.

That was actually played well by Holliday.

Re: 6/9 GC

schadenfreude: the joy of watching Joey Votto kill a rally and looking really foolish in the process.

Re: 6/9 GC

I was wondering if Beltran was going to make some contact after the second pitch in that AB was almost unbelievable juicy, and he didn't even swing.

Had to take a break from the computer to eat. WTF was Votto thinking?  And what was Chris Speier doing?  Instead of standing there watching the play, shouldn't Speier have been telling Votto to slide?

Re: 6/9 GC

Hmm . . . this interview with Matheny would be more revealing if it had sound.

Re: 6/9 GC

So Cuzzi got upset because Carpenter gave him "a look?" That's right. No one shows up Phil Cuzzi. Because the 30,000 people who are here bought their tickets to see Phil Cuzzi call balls and strikes.

Pretty snazzy back-handed grab by Molina.

I had sound. They asked what adjustments they made the 2nd time they the order and what he had said to Cuzzi earlier in the game. Matheny alluded that Cuzzi took offense to a loom one of the Cardinals gave him and suggested that everyone move on from yesterday and that everyone be treated fairly.

 "WTF was Votto thinking?"

I don't think there's a lot going through his head, Fors. He's baseball's idiot savant.

It's about time someone started noticing his defense.

ESPN specifically requested this game because Cuzzi had home plate.

Re: 6/9 GC

Dusty- "I hate to place blame, but it was Speier's fault."

What a dick.

Re: 6/9 GC

Arroyo's sprint back to the dugout was one of the girlier things I've seen in a baseball game.

Re: 6/9 GC

It's called a "decoy," Dusty. Your guy got used like a $5 French whore.

Re: 6/9 GC

OK.  Now I have sound again.  I heard Dusty, but I couldn't decode his answer about not wanting to place blame.  Votto was to blame for going for third?  Speier was wrong for not telling Votto to slide?

Other than Arroyo's cornrows?

The other day on Facebook I made a repsonse like yours to an old high school friend's obvious comment and got:

"Hey."

Was it the sprint or his 'do?

Carpenter is locked in on Arroyo and getting nothing for it.

Dusty's trying to cover for Votto. When I see a third base coach pointing down to the outside of the base, it means that I'm supposed to slide toward the outside of the base. If the coach wants me to hold up, he usually holds up both his arms. If he wants me to score, he waves me around. The third base coach's singals have been pretty much been the same for 100 years.
