Dusty- "I hate to place blame, but it was Speier's fault."
What a dick.
OK, that made it clearer.

OK. Now I have sound again. I heard Dusty, but I couldn't decode his answer about not wanting to place blame. Votto was to blame for going for third? Speier was wrong for not telling Votto to slide?
Dusty's trying to cover for Votto. When I see a third base coach pointing down to the outside of the base, it means that I'm supposed to slide toward the outside of the base. If the coach wants me to hold up, he usually holds up both his arms. If he wants me to score, he waves me around. The third base coach's singals have been pretty much been the same for 100 years.
Now even clearer. Thanks.

So Cuzzi got upset because Carpenter gave him "a look?" That's right. No one shows up Phil Cuzzi. Because the 30,000 people who are here bought their tickets to see Phil Cuzzi call balls and strikes.
ESPN specifically requested this game because Cuzzi had home plate.
That explains it. You can practically see the suits at ESPN sitting around a table:
"Should we go with Giants/Dodgers or Royals/Astros this Sunday night?"
"Well, Phil Cuzzi is umpiring Royals/Astros."
"Gas up the trucks and send them to Houston!!"

Look at the role models in his dugout.

I like Herscheiser. He's being about as critical of Cuzzi as he can be.
That HBP looked completely bogus to me.

OK, I'm tired, but I haven't been drinking. Did ESPN really just show cricket scores at the bottom of the screen?

Be careful here to Bruce ...

Should I expect him to miss one week a month due to menstrual cramps?

Yep. I'm kind of bummin'. I took Sri Lanka giving two wickets.

I like Orel, too. He's the anti-Nomar.

Rec. Strange how Cueto always seems to find the DL or bereavement leave when the Cardinals are on the schedule.

Bah. It was a good pitch, but I would have taken my chances with Frazier.

... who he blows away with three pitches.

Go Orel! He's still going after Cuzzi.

Craig can't miss a hanging curve like that.

Do other teams miss hangers like this?

Freese can't miss a hanging curve like that.

If we lose this game, it's our own fault. And it might be the opportunities we just missed.

We've hit a lot of balls hard that have been caught. I thought that was going to be another one.

Interesting move pulling Adams.
