Interesting move pulling Adams.

I know it feels like we're nitpicking him, but if Matheny was going to pinch run for Adams, shouldn't he have been ready to do it before the first pitch of the at-bat?

It's not the worst idea MM has had. If he leaves Adams in the game, he's going to face Chapman if his spot comes up again in the order and the Cardinals are still behind.

Is there any other kind?

What exactly does Kolten Wong do that might someday make him an upgrade over Carpenter?

Ok, maybe Wong can steal bases.

I didn't understand sending Carpenter ...

How many hard hit balls can die at the track?

I think their thinking is they can move Carpenter to third and Freese is the odd man out.

Nothing. He's probably a .300 hitter with gap power. Carp is that plus a supremely disciplined hitter.

Re: 6/9 GC

Carpenter has the potential to be a huge fan favorite in St. Louis. Making the switch to 2nd gives him a Schumaker-like appeal, and Carpenter's a really good ball player.

Re: 6/9 GC

It's cliche, but this is the exact situation for which Choate was signed.

Re: 6/9 GC

Unbelievable. All the balls we've hit hard and that shit falls in.

Re: 6/9 GC

Broxton must've forgot Molina was running. He could've got the lead runner.

0 for 3 with 3 Ks against Broxton coming into the at-bat. Great choice Mike.

Re: 6/9 GC

If they want to know how Rosenthal got to this point then maybe they should use their access and find out.

TK, did you read the Sports Illustrated story on the Cardinals?  The one with the pitchers on the cover.

20 pitches for 2 innings. Could you push him for 3?

Re: 6/9 GC

The important thing is the people in the crowd got to take their snapshots of Chapman from 300 feet away with their iPhones.
