Re: 6/11 GC

LOS ANGELES (AP) -- The Dodgers took it personally when Arizona's Ian Kennedy hit their star rookie Yasiel Puig in the face with a pitch. Then they really got mad when Kennedy hit starterZack Greinke with another high pitch.

Punches replaced pitches at that point as a heated brawl involving players and coaches ensued, resulting in six ejections before the Dodgers rallied to beat the Diamondbacks 5-3 on Tuesday night.

Kennedy, Diamondbacks manager Kirk Gibson and coach Turner Ward, along with Puig, reliever Ronald Belisario and Dodgers hitting coach Mark McGwire were ejected in the seventh inning after the prolonged scuffle against a railing that nearly spilled into the stands.

Wonder what he's doing these days now that the Yahoo message boards are history? Last I saw, he was heaping his imperiousness upon anyone on the Miami Dolphins board who didn't think John Beck was the second coming of Dan Marino.

That wasn't Cowboy, that was Rocket.

Right. Cowboy was the one who cleverly changed his handle to "gbrooks" and started trolling the Reds' board, thereby raising the intelligence quotient of both our board and the Reds' board.

Correct.  You have to keep your bad posters straight.  Rocket was the one who threw a fit when the Cardinals moved Edmonds because the team had given up a 40 HR gold glove center fielder.  Cowboy was the one who threw a fit because Gregg Jeffries didn't live up to his "expectations," despite the fact Jeffries' best 2 seasons in baseball were as a Cardinal, and then complained that the Cardinals were stupid for signing a left fielder to a 7 year deal because anyone can play left field.

I don't remember Cowboy going off about that, but then again I've tried to put the Joe Torre era out of my head.

Kennedy should earn a lengthy suspension.  You just can't go head hunting.

I watched the highlights of that game this morning...

I don't like coming up and in like that. It's really fortunate that Puig isn't in the hospital right now. Then they came up and in on Grienke after he plunked someone in the back?

I don't really like headhunting. I understand needing to get the plate back, setting up the outside, or disrespect that causes a statement (Stealing second while you're up by 8 runs for example). I still don't understand why you come up.

I like Will Leitch, but this article feeling bad for the Mets is puzzling. Since I began seriously following baseball in 1996, I think the Mets have been of consequence once (2000). Well, they were tough in 2006, but who really cares about the organization floundering?

Are the Yahoo message boards no more?  Seriously?

Yahoo's business model seems to be to start with a mediocre product, and then make it incrementally worse, until, like a frog slowly cooking, the customers don't know when to jump.

I once had a "My Yahoo" with lots of useful components I had selected and personalized.  Now exactly none of them still work.  The only thing of Yahoo that I still use is the email, and that's only because I am grandfathered in from before gmail appeared.

Here's what you do.  You unintentionally intenionally walk Kennedy.  Then you let the next batter get a base hit.  When Kennedy comes into 2B, the second baseman accidentally spikes him the face.

Well this is sort of funny. The person who is still ranting about the Cardinals not signing Pujols and talking about what a terrible owner Bill DeWitt is even though his organization is 20 games over .500 and producing quality players in the 20th rounds is telling me to give something a rest.

I'll stop trolling you about Strauss when you admit that DeWitt's organization is flourishing and that his decisions to remove Jocketty and let Pujols walk were right.

"I love Mets fans, and I love this franchise."

I submit that anyone who rooted for the Cardinals before 1988 would NEVER write this sentence. The Mets are a second-rate, low-rent franchise in one of the shittiest parts of New York City, with dweebish fans and a history of self-absorbed, narcissistic players.
I'm glad the Mets are floundering. I hope they go 0-162 next year.

Sometimes the inlaws drink but not tonight.  So i show up drunk and try not to act drunk.  My wife bought her dad a load of gravel for the driveway.  First thing i did was spread it.  That got a nice sweat going.  Then we ate.  I had like 4 pork burgers, bbq chips, homemade ice cream and cake.  Then i sat on the couch.  I was tired as fuck from drinking, eating and being in the heat most the day. My buzz was long gone and replaced with exhaustion.  My wife actually turned the game on and me and the brother in law watched it.  I fell asleep a couple of times.  Then we came home.  I took the dog outside, drank a bunch of water, help my daughter get dressed after baths, and typed this message.  Pretty awesome night!

TK, when you can admit you are wrong we can talk about gray.   Alz posted something several weeks ago and you let it sit rather than admit you were wrong, so it's not just me.

Until that time I happy to talk black and white with you, and other things that don't bring out the worst in you . . . and me.

No idea what you're referring to about what Alz posted.

And admit I'm wrong about what?
