After they finally got in three games around the raindrops in Chapel Hill ...
Mississippi State
Oregon State
Indiana
Louisville
North Carolina
North Carolina State
UCLA
LSU
Saturday/Monday/Wednesday bracket: OSU is the only national seed on this side of the bracket, so they figure to be the favorite, but they needed to throw a shitload of pitches to get to Omaha. Boyd has four full days rest after throwing Saturday and Monday, so that might help, but MSU's staff should be in a lot better shape. Louisville and Indiana both come in hot. Both won their regional and super-regional without a loss.
Pick: Oregon State
Sunday/Tuesday/Thursday bracket: LSU and UCLA have been the most dominant teams in the tournament so far. They're rested and ready. North Carolina isn't. State seems to have a horseshoe up its collective arse, but they're going to have a tough time getting out of this bracket.
Pick: LSU

I meant Mississippi State and UCLA. Really. I did.

Well Oregon state is still living, but they have to win 3 more in a row to get to the final dance. Louisville is gone, and Oregon State will post up against Indiana to see who gets to go after Mississippi State.

Pitching has dominated this CWS ; low scores except for one runaway game .

Oregon State got back to Mississippi State. Need to win two straight though. Good showing regardless, top 4 for those kids.

Rodon , ( N.C. State) pitching on 3 days rest ; interesting ...

5 innings, 2 runs. Gamble would look better if they could hit ...

Well now, you may be on to something .....

Looks like it boils down to UCLA's pitching/defense , against Miss. St.'s Wes Rea and Hunter Renfroe ...

I can't see MSU winning two games in a row with its pitching staff in tatters, and Vander Pig going for UCLA.
But I've been wrong before ...

I enjoy Great pitching and defense probably more than the next guy ; But I do believe they took a tad too much giddy-up out of the bats . I'm not all that big of a fan of bringing the fences in ; 302 foot homeruns down the line are more in line with softball ....

As usual, the NCAA went too far with the new stadium. It's friggin' huge. No one wants to see a redux of the 1998 championship game, but home runs are OK once in awhile.

undefeated , they were , I'm thinking they probably hit under .200 for the series, course every team probably hit under .200 for the series .......

I was on stage tonight, looking at the TV screens as I noticed something big was up. I mentioned UCLA was my alma mater, and the host said, "they're about to all run on to the field and hug each other". Then I watched a weak grounder to the 1B and a toss to the pitcher, and the host's predication came true. That gave me the opportunity to tell the audience what I have told you all, that I never once viewed any UCLA sporting events while I was a student there. Being on North Campus, I did not have need to walk by Pauley Pavilion everyday. But I worked at a flea market in Westwood Village, and walked by there at least once or twice per week. Funny, yeah I guess I wish I had watched a basketball game or two, but I am OK with the way things turned out. I started off with a song from my UCLA days, when I was following a group of Irish immigrants calling themselves The Young Dubliners.
Later I played with my wife, and we played a tune I wrote back in my LA days. In a sad coincidence, my songwriting partner back then lived about three houses down on Yorkshire from the house that was shot up and set ablaze by the lunatic a couple of weeks ago. I was a Santa Monica College transfer student, and the route he took from killing his dad and brother to the college was one I took many times each week. I transferred in 1989, and had finished most of my claases at SMC by 1988, but it is still fresh in my mind.

Where is Jackie Robinson Field? Is it on campus?

What is Jackie Robinson Field? I've never heard of it.
There's an old practice field for football on the west side of campus, but that's the only open athletic area on campus that I remember.

It's actually Jackie Robinson Stadium. It's UCLA's home field. Has been since 1980.

I recall seeing a facility with a running track around it down the hill from Pauley Pavilion that might have been a football practice field. I can't imagine UCLA goes all the way up to Pasadena for practice.
USC has its practice field right in the middle of campus, near the bookstore. The day I was there, someone appeared to be filming a promotional spot, with Matt Leinart dressed in Trojan attire that made him look like a prince. And SC people wonder why everyone else in the Pac 12 hates them.

I had to look it up. Jackie Robinson Stadium (as Fors correctly cited) is southwest of the main campus, on the Brentwood side of the 405.

Well at least it's a PAC 12 title!
Great job by UCLA, Oregon State was one win out and Oregon/Arizona State did pretty well. All things considered, I think we have a great baseball conference out here.
No team had a losing record from the conference!

That's the one I was referring to oj the west side of campus. Students use it for jogging.

Yes, here it is. I would never have had any cause to go that way. It's tucked in a funny corner, up against the free way, which divides town in that spot. The through street there is Wilshire, and the next through street north is Sunset, both of which I drove a zillion times. But the only need I ever recall to drive between one and another, that close to 405, was to pass by Nicole Simpson's condo, and that was after I had graduated and moved away.

I guess it was the intramural field I was thinking about, because I remember driving down Sunset and seeing it on my left.
Funny story: Of course I had to duck my head into Pauley Pavlilion to see where all the great UCLA players - even that Alcindor guy - plied their trade in college. As I'm awash in my reverence for the place during what will probably be a once-in-a-lifetime moment, my wife says "Why the hell are we looking at an empty gym?"
