5 runs in the first 3 innings . . . THIS might have been a case where starting pitching is more clearly to blame than is the offense.

Not knowing that and only being able to follow the game on my wife's iPhone as we were driving back from Cape Cod this afternoon, I didn't have much good to say about Mathney in the car.
