I don't know if it's a good thing or bad thing that the Cardinals haven't been in any trade rumors.

And have fun making it up!
"No makeup date was announced. This was the last day the Giantswere scheduled to be in Cincinnati this season. The Reds visit San Francisco later this month.
The teams are both off Aug. 29 - it would be the first day after the Reds finish a stretch of 20 games in 20 days and the last before they play 13 games in 13 days. Major League Baseball rules prohibit teams from playing more than 20 straight days without permission from the players' union.
The Reds would be in the middle of a road trip to St. Louis and Colorado. The Giants would be in the middle of a trip to Colorado and Arizona."

Dear J.B.,
That was Mr. Wainwright's curveball. You may see it again this evening.

Umm. Guys. That's Joe Blanton on the mound. You can stop screwing around any ol' inning now.

I don't believe the Cardinals ever hit Blantonn.

This the the second night in a row Gubicza has referred to the "lower quadrant of the strike zone."

He's 3-2 in 8 starts, according to FS Angels.

No idea why they pitched to Trout there.

This is starting to feel like a game the Cardinals should win but won't.

Monday morning quarterbacking here, but I would have left Wainwright in to face Hamilton, who looked awful against Waino's curve the previous at bat. And Waino probably finishes the game if Pujols doesn't chunk that broken bat single over Descalso's head.
For those of you who were keeping track, Albert went 1-for-11 with a walk and a run scored in the series.

Again, Monday morning quarterbacking, but since Mujica didn't start the inning, if I was going to relieve Wainwright, I would have gone with Choate or Siegrist, then gone to Mujica for the righthanded hitters who followed.
