Harkening to our recent discussion about pork and referencing the Subway commercial that was on between innings, I've never been partial to the pulled variety. Pulled pork is kind of the porcine version of beef brisket, and I loathe beef brisket.

i am okay with both.  Our town has a dq, hardees and subway.  Not many options.  Subway had a pulled pork sandwhich awhile back.  I dont think it was an applewood tho.  I hope that means the bbq is sweeter.  The last bbq pork sub wasnt very good.

Not as dumb as putting the titanic on auto pilot.

So you're saying it's somewhere between crashing an ocean liner into an iceberg and starting Donovan Osborne in the seventh game of the NLCS?

In the interests of disclosure, I've only ever eaten brisket at Jewish holiday meals, and their version involves soaking the beef in a vinegar-based marinade for 12 years or until it has the consistency of pine tar, whichever comes first.

That's not real brisket. There's a BBQ place in St. Louis that probably serves the best BBQ in town. If you ever want to see what it looks like when a lion catches a meal, take Bob to Pappy's and get him a combo plate of brisket and ribs. Then keep your hands out of his way because I doubt he'd tell the difference between your finger and a rib--especially if your finger had a little BBQ sauce on it.

"That's not real brisket."

Figured as much. Jews are to culinary arts as the French are to warfare. They're better off not getting started in the first place because they always end up needing someone else's help to finish.

I still dont understand the no pork thing and the jewish culture.  I love pork.  The grease doesnt love me back but lean pork is good.  We had pork steak last night.  It was pretty good.  Leaner then it usuaully is.If pigs were not put on earth to eat then what are they for?

"I still dont understand the no pork thing and the jewish culture."

Pigs are scavengers, and scavengers are impure, thus eating pigs would make the consumer impure. Or something like that. It's the same deal with bottom-feeding shellfish like lobster and shrimp. But Jews have no problem eating whitefish that comes in a jar full of smelly gelatin.
Muslims don't eat pork either, but I don't know enough about religion to say whether it's for the same reason Jews don't eat pork. I figure it just leaves more pork chops for the rest of us.

I suppose if you wanted to go to the trouble of raising a pig organically, you might get a reformed rabbi to endorse the concept of kosher sausage.
I don't know if these make it out to the Midwest, but there's a company called Hebrew National which makes hot dogs that while not certified as kosher are considered acceptable among all Jewish folk but the real hardline Orthodoxy. I think their hot dogs smell like dirty feet, though.

Re: 8/6 GC LA. @ Cards

They actually sell Hebrew National hot dogs at the stadiums and at Scottrade Center. I've never had one since I have no aversion to the other hot dogs which cost $1 less.

Do the Cardinals sell their own brand of hot dog like Dodger Dogs or Fenway Franks? Well, I suppose technically a frankfurter isn't a hot dog, but you get the gist.

I don't know if it's their brand, but I'm pretty sure in the dome it's called a Ram Dog.  I don't think that's the case for the Cardinals or Blues.

"a Ram Dog."

Sounds like it ought to be the nickname of a bouncer at a gay bar.
