They wouldn't bring Wong up to sit on the bench, so I think we'll be seeing more Carpenter at third base.

It seems like an odd move. Freese isnt really the problem. However i think he needs traded. He is on the decline and they should move him while he has some value. Carp should be at 3rd in 2014. Maybe they want to give wong a longer test run in the majors prior to 2014. Likely a move to shake things up as well. They need new life.

Based on the quotes, I think TK is right. Wong will probably play against RHP with Carpenter moving to 3B. Freese will play 3B against LHP with Carpenter at 2B.
Either way, the bench got better.

And he was going to be up in 15 days anyway. No real reason not to do it sooner. Chambers wasnt going to be usefull.

I doubt it. Cruz is more valuable (and versatile) than Johnson. If they were inclined to go with 2 catchers, I'm not sure why they'd pick Johnson over Cruz.
