Re: 9/4 GC

Given the importance of this game, this is a pathetically-small crowd.

Miller pitched his guts out in the first. Cozart led off the second with s seeing eye single, Hannigan hit a pitch thst completely fooled him for a single, Arroyo bunted, and then they scored on a ground out and an awful wild pitch.

Re: 9/4 GC

If I wasn't biased toward the Cardinals, I'd say there are two different strike zones tonight. The ball four pitch to Choo in the first was better than anything that's rung up the Cardinals so far.

Re: 9/4 GC

Oh, and you'll love this. Phillips hit a popup that was about five feet foul with a runner on third and two outs. He threw his bat and his helmet and was halfway back to the dugout by the time Craig caught it.

Re: 9/4 GC

Miller is already at 51 pitches through three. And the Reds went 1-2-3 in the third.

You can't walk Ryan Hanigan. You just can't.

I think he's thrown one pitch for a strike that's not been a fastball.

Re: 9/4 GC

Wong probably hasn't seen anyone who's thrown this slow since high school.

No idea why Miller is still in the game.

Is it too soon to say Wong is starting to frustrate me?

Chapman only throwing 100 mph tonight. He just can't sustain his velocity on back-to-back nights.

This team is wrapped way too tight right now.

Re: 9/4 GC

Strange stuff going on in Milwaukee, McCutchen hit a solo homer to lead off the fifth, Peralta plunked Morneau with the next pitch, Peralta thought McCutchen was showing him up, but it looked more like McCutchen couldn't find the ball after it left his bat, which is really odd. Anyway, it's 7-3 Brewers, but I think Peralta just woke up the Pirates and the Brewers' bullpen has a habit of suckishness.

Are you suggesting the Cardinals could use a little bit of Tony LaRussa's light-hearted whimsy right about now?

What's more slapstick than the TLR & Dunc Variety Hour?

Re: 9/4 GC

It's rare that Hrabosky can be called the voice of reason, but Dan was screaming like a Catholic school girl after her first mixer. Hrabosky reminded him that the Cardinals still needed to get 3 outs.

Nice job Adams.
