NL
MVP - McCutchen
If the Diamondbacks had been a playoff team, Goldschmidt would have been the choice, but McCutchen has led a better team at a more demanding position. HM to Freddie Freeman, who is also an exceptional defensive player, Jayson Werth, who quiety has put together a decent year, and Yadi.
Cy Young - Kershaw
This is the year I finally agree that wins aren't the be-all, end-all. Kershaw leads the league in ERA, strikeouts and WHIP on a first place team. Good enough for me. HM - Jose Fernandez, Francisco Liriano.
ROY - Puig
The Dodgers were 8.5 games out of first when he joined the team. They're 10.5 games in first place today. HM - Fernandez and Miller
MOY - Hurdle
HM - Fredi Gonzalez. Mattingly might get a few votes, but the Dodgers' payroll is obscene. He should win with that team.
AL
MVP - Cabrera
An 1.100 OPS is ridiculous. HM - Davis, Trout and Pujols (not really. Just wanted to see if you're still paying attention).
CY - Max Scherzer
He's been so-so in September, but he still leads the league in wins, WHIP, strikeouts and BAA. HM - Sanchez and Colon*
ROY - John Calipari
Calipari is better than "vacant." It'll probably be Wil Myers. You can make an argument for Jose Iglesias, but defensive players usually don't win awards like this. HM - Iglesias, Archer
MOY - John Farrell
If you expected the Red Sox to have the BRIB on Sept. 16, you're smarter than everyone else. HM - Terry Francona. Please, no Bob Melvin arguments.

Id agree with most of that. Id give carpenter hm as well tho. What he leads the league in hits, doubles, runs and has a very good ba and obp?
the only award id disagree with is roy. Id give it to miller. he is going to have a 3ish era and 15ish wins with close to 200 innings once the season is threw. Puig did put in a full season. Imo, that hurts him.

NL MVP - McCutchen, Carpenter, Molina
NL CYA - Kershaw (who should win it unanimously), Fernandez, Wainwright, Harvey
NL ROY - Puig, Fernandez, Miller
AL MVP - Mike Trout is to Albert Pujols as Miguel Cabrera is to Barry Bonds. I guess I'll go Miggy even though he's still an abonimation as a fielder. Chris Davis is in there, too.
AL CYA - Scherzer, Hernadez, Darvis
AL ROY - Wil Myers. Great trade, Kansas City.
Managers of the Year - It's hard to vote for these without seeing as many game as possible, but Melvin, Farrell and Maddon should definitely be in the conversation in the AL, and Hurdle seems like a no-brainer in Pittsburgh.
Executives of the Year should clearly be Huntington and Cherington.

That's fine if you don't want to give Puig credit for a full season, but if hes excluded on those grounds it's still going to be hard for the voters to justify giving the award to Miller over Fernandez. Fernandez exceeds Miller in every primary stat except wins.

That didn't stop the BBWAA from giving the award to Felix Hernandez in 2010.
