Re: 9/17 GC

I am kind of mentally out of this game but for good reason.  7-0 isnt a bad way to play through 3.

Re: 9/17 GC

I'm sure Artie will get pissed that I ask this, but does anyone know how the tie-breaker rules work for the division title under this new system?  I know under the old system it was just head-to-head record, with the better team being named Division champ and the other the wild card,  But with this one-game play in for the wild cards, I'd hope they'd use a little better method.

I think Kelly got squeezed on strike 3 there.

Why would I get pissed?

To answer your question, I don't know. I assume it would be head-to-head (the Pirates won the season series, 10-9), but it may be whichever team owner has given Selig's daughter cunnilingus the most times.

Re: 9/17 GC

How to determine playoff tiebreakers

By Paul Hagen / MLB.com | 9/4/2013 11:46 A.M. ET

Once again, the regular season seems headed toward an exciting ending, with playoff spots not decided until the final day.

Or beyond.

With an extra Wild Card up for grabs this year, there are even more opportunities for there to be teams deadlocked when the last out of the last game is made on Sunday, Sept. 29. With that in mind, Major League Baseball has released tiebreaker scenarios in case two, three or even four teams are involved.

If just one game is needed to settle the issue, it will tentatively be played on Monday, Sept. 30. That applies to determining the division championship whether or not the losing team would still qualify as a Wild Card.

For example, if the Pirates and Cardinals end up with identical records at the top of the NL Central, but both clubs would make the postseason regardless, the winner of their extra game would be declared the division winner while the loser would have to play in the sudden death Wild Card playoff game.

So it's OK if we start talking about the World Series rotation ?

Is it too early to say I'd like to see Molina take the rest of the night off?

It is now. Matheny must have forgotten that games are never over in Colorado. We're one swing from a 3 run game.

Yeah. I'm going to bed before Rosie and The Chief have to make appearances. What bullshit.

Depends whether they sweep the Reds in the NLCS or Latos manages to win a game and it goes five.

I think the Cardinals just became the first team to not score against Mitchell Boggs.

If I had to defend Jon Jay, I'd put the third baseman three feet from the line and the leftfielder 10 feet from the line.

I was kind of hoping Maness, Siegrist, Rosenthal and Mujica would all get the night off, but you can't have a big enough lead in this yard.
