Barring a surprise comeback/collapse, the Yankees season and Mariano Rivera's career will end next week. I'll say this, I haven't witnessed anyone dominate the way he did, for as long as he did, and his postseason achievements are simply insane.

When the Red Sox had their going-away ceremony for Rivera a couple of weeks ago, they played a video on their SumthinTron that essentially taunted him about blowing a save in Game 4 of the 2004 ALCS. It was a lousy, ill-conceived stunt, but Rivera rose above it and basically said "Hey, they won. Good for them."
It's not often I admire the Yankees or anyone in their organization, but Rivera is a Hall of Famer in every respect.

I thought it was pretty cool that the Yankees brought in Metallica to play Enter Sandman today.

If you had told me 25 years ago that Metallica would be performing at a baseball game in Yankee Stadium someday, I would have probably laughed so hard Iwould have herniated myself.

Cards clinched at least a WC berth with the Senators' loss this afternoon.

The first two innings might be the worst I've ever seen a Cardinals team play defense.

I am not a yankees fan but there are some classy guys there. Rivera is at fhe top of the list but ive always found jeter to be classy. Pettitte is to. Really there have been most classy guys mixed in with some real dicks.

Pettitte is a perfect example of how forgiving baseball fans can be if you approach them the right way. Does anyone remember that Pettitte admitted using PEDs?

I haven't misremembered.
In non-violent instances, it's usually he coverup, not the crime.

Errors and Adams 0 for 5 with 3 k's and 6 LOB .Kelly's pitching was iffy at best , but probably good enough for a win without the boondoggles ....
