Two walks, what should have been an error, has lead to a lot of first inning pitches for Miller...

Much better second , Miller .....

It's a good thing Molina hasn't had knee injuries or anything this season that might suggest it not be wise to play him in a day game after a night game. Seriously Matheny is just mind-boggling sometimes.

He's only got three other catchers sitting on the bench, so his options are limited.

Two-run single for Yadi. Good thing he's in the lineup today.

Freese is depressing me ....

Votto just flew out to end the eighth with the tying run on third and the go-ahead run on second. That's going to drive Brennaman shithouse again.

Great job by Daisuke shutting out TTTIB through 8. Can the Mets' BP hold them in the 9th?
Dice-K actually went 7.2. New Yahoo format leaves something to be desired.

Reds lose. They're playing for home advantage in a 1-game playoff now.

Miller stumbled a bit in the first , then was very solid until this leadoff walk ...

Rosenthal's arm has to feel like Molina's knee.

Is anyone else concerned that with TTTIB potentially dropping out of the Division race that they'll tank this weekend while setting up their pitching for the play-in game and whatever may follow? I'm not suggesting they'll intentionally lose, just that they'll view it as having little to play for and deploy sub-optimal lineups/pitchers. Especially if Pittsburgh wins today and moves 2 games ahead of them.

I'm going to give a quick tip of the cap to Shelby Miller. He just finished his rookie regular season 15-9, 3.09 ERA, 1.21 WHIP and 169 Ks in 173.1 innings. Jose Fernandez will likely win NLROY, but Miller certainly showed very, very well.

Picking the pitchers for the playoffs is a job I would not want ....
