NLDS Game 2 GC

Artie, I know you're counting down the days until Beltran is no longer a Cardinal, but if the 2014 is fortunate enough to make the playoffs, can we bring him back at that time?

Would you settle for a fervent hope he's not on an opposing playoff team?

Re: NLDS Game 2 GC

This will be the "This is the first time in 20 years the Pirates have had a winning record ..." portion of the broadcast.

What the hell is with Sam Ryan's false eyelashes? She looks like she walked into a spider web.

Re: NLDS Game 2 GC

Listening to ESPN radio, they are saying Lynn is stumbling through his follow-through on three straight pitches. Any visible issues with this that you can see?

If Beltran isn't a Cardinal next season, I have a feeling the only way the Cardinals run into Carlos in the post-season would be in the World Series.

This is the portion of the game where Lynn falls apart.

Re: NLDS Game 2 GC

That MM decision didn't pay off, but in Lynn's defense , it should never happened ... Anyway, got away with the 1 run ..

We're going to be hearing Lawrence McCutcheon references for the next two hours, aren't we?

I hope this team finds a real center fielder during the offseason. I'm sick of Jay.

I didn't see him doing anything he doesn't normally do, with the caveat I missed part of the second inning because I was making spaghetti and meatballs.
His main problem from what I've seen seems to be he's not precise with fastball location. He's been wild in the strike zone, and it's cost him.

Now Lynn is on tilt.

Re: NLDS Game 2 GC

Well the potential upside to this Lynn performance... Do you give him the ball again as a starter?

This is what happens when you pitch your fifth starter in Game 2.

Re: NLDS Game 2 GC

I didn't mind the decision to start Lynn because I had a feeling he had turned it around, but this is miserable.

No.

Re: NLDS Game 2 GC

I have to say at this point I take my chances with Wacha/Miller. The games are just too valuable to give Lynn the ball again. At least with Miller/Wacha you know that the experience will be seriously valuable for the future.

I think freese and beltran are still on the 2014 cardinals.  Tavares didnt get a full year under his belt in aaa and wong hasnt hit yet.  My guess is that the cards play it safe and bring them both back.  Imo i think beltran might axcept his qualifing offer.  One year 14 mill isnt bad.  If they go with wong and tavares they need a serious upgrade at ss.

Why do the cardinals keep letting him beat

Re: NLDS Game 2 GC

I know I'm probably alone in this line of thinking, but I want Freese for as long as possible. I know it's probably unpopular among the fans here that don't think with their heart, but Freese gets a pass forever from me for 2011. We have 11 titles, and one of them is missing without Freese.

Beltran? I'd try to get him back for another season. Just keep him healthy for postseason, he's brilliant then.

He's a .240 hitter. The only thing you can't let him do is swing at belt-high fastballs. Which for some inexplicable reason the Cardinals keep feeding him.

I'm about ready to write this one off. Cole is overpowering.
