Decisive NLDS Game 5 Crap

Looks like Hurdle is going with Cole. This is not good news for the Cardinals.

Re: Decisive NLDS Game 5 Crap

You had to know they werent running Burnett out there again, and it's just way too soon to try and get Liriano up there.

Well, whoever wins tomorrow is going to earn it... And at least the game is in primetime!!!

Hey, maybe the Cardinals will spend the day looking at tape and notice that the only thing Pedro freaking Alvarez is capable of hitting is fastballs. Maybe they will pick up on some crazy stat that Alvarez swings and misses at nearly 50 percent of the breaking balls and offspeed pitches he sees. Maybe when Molina sets up, he won't call for a fastball.

After yesterday, when Alvarez hit what feels like his 63rd home run against the Cardinals, I'm dropping Molina to 10th on my ficticious MVP ballot.

It's been moved to 7 p.m. CT because the Dodgers/Braves series ended.

Re: Decisive NLDS Game 5 Crap

Well here it is gents, game 5, and Wainright on full rest.

I'd have to say that any Cardinal fan would welcome Wainright vs Cole on a game 5.

It won't surprise me if Cole pitches well tonight. In fact I'd be pretty surprised if he doesn't pitch well. He's going to give the Cardinals fits for a long, long time.

What really stood out was Wacha's composure. I think 40,000 people singing your name would bother anyone, it's just a question of how much you let it affect your performance. Kelly, too. I think it helped they knew it was coming after watching Cueto, but Cueto would have wilted anyway because he has a vagina.

It isnt that i want the cardinals fan to be horses asses but it is kind of easy for other teams to come to stl and play.  I mean when u get a gental round of applause for making a nice catch as the opposing team you have to feel pretty welcomed.  He crowd in the first 2 games didnt have much to get excited about but they were half asleep.

Don't disparage what you've got, AP. The whole BFIB thing aside, one of the things that's appealing about St. Louis and the Midwest in general is the way you treat other people.

Re: Decisive NLDS Game 5 Crap

No surprises. Guessing Hurdle is going with Barmes because he's counting on a low-scoring game, and MM is going with Koz because he's been getting on base.

Waino isn't nearly as sharp as he was in Game 1.

Re: Decisive NLDS Game 5 Crap

Is there a 180-day DL they can carry Freese on until the playoffs each season?

Alvarez probably makes that play if his ears aren't tucked into his cap.

Re: Decisive NLDS Game 5 Crap

I would have considered walking Freese. Guess that's why (among many reasons) I'm watching from my couch.
