Not sure whwre i heard it. Wasnt here. Anyway the idea was that carp stays at 2nd, peralta moves to 3rd and wong is traded for a ss. I dont really care for that idea. The idea of headly is interesting tho. An infield of headly, peralta, carp and adams is nice.
Still i dont see why they didnt try and find a better centerfielder. I understand the excitment about bourjos but he isnt a lock as an everyday player.
If ur trading a package of wong and lynn u should draw alot of interest.

It's apparently a moot point. According to Goold, Moz stated in today's press conference that the team is not trading Wong.
I'm fine with the move for Bourjos. I know there's been some love on this board for Granderson, but I really, really didn't want them to do that. For one, I wouldn't give up the draft pick (and the pool money that comes with it) for Granderson. He'll be 33 at the beginning of the season, they don't need another LH hitter, and I suspect that outside of Yankee Stadium he's a 20 HR guy who hits .220. No thanks. And I think someone is going to WAY overpay for Ellsbury.

Fors. They are going to do "something" with the 6 starting pitchers. I don't see them pushing Wacha back to the minors, and that means you're looking at putting Lynn/Kelly in the bullpen if you don't trade one of them.
I think we'll make some move to give them a chance to pitch somewhere else. Perhaps a draft pick, perhaps another OF possibility, who knows. I do think they'll trim that surplus down though since the value has to be pretty decent for them right now.

Well, you can't trade draft picks, not in the conventional sense anyway, and the rotation is probably going to be Wainwright, Wacha, Miller, Lynn and either Kelly or Martinez. So I'd be pretty surprised if any of the guys they have now are pitching elsewhere in 2014.

Not sure if it was intentional or not, but you left Garcia out of that rotation.
I expect either Kelly or Lynn to go back to the bullpen and Martinez to start the season in Memphis. At this point, it appears that Motte either won't be ready at the start of 2014 or will only be ready on a limited basis (i.e., unable to go back-to-back days or something like that). Rosenthal will open the season as the closer. Kelly wasn't very good in the pen last season, but Lynn was very good in 2011. It might make sense to have Lynn available to pitch the 8th, even after Motte comes back, assuming Motte is limited.

I left him out unintentionally. I forgot that as long as he's healthy he's starting.
Agreed with the rest of your post, though I do think they'll continue to start Lynn.

I'm good with that. According to Goold, Moz also dismissed the notion of Mujica returning, which means the personnel is set, it's just a question of arranging the furniture.
He mentioned the last piece is probably a right-handed hitting utility infielder who can play 2B/SS/3B. Willie Bloomquist's name came up.

He can't play SS anymore, but Michael Young might be a good fit.

He might. Swap out Kozma for Young and keep DeSousa as your backup SS/late inning defensive replacement. Might cost a few more sheckles than he's worth, but it would definitely be the best right-handed bat they've had coming off the bench since ... ummmm, Eduardo Perez?
