Middle Tenn. has a couple of dirty players on defense ......
I'm at work and not able to watch anything else but highlights (which is a good thing, because Beth Mowins is doing pxp, and she's the worst, ever. Even worse than Brennadouche) but the internet message boards are blowing up about how dirty #33 is.
Does Navy really have a player who's name is Wave Ryder? Classic.

Agree on Mowins; awful, just plain awful...

The best description of her 'style' I've ever read is she sounds like a 10-year-old boy trying to.imitate Keith Jackson.

One game to go, and here's where we stand.
Alz- 33
Don- 32
Artie- 30
Bob- 29
Fors- 27
It all comes down to the NC game. Alz has FSU, Don has Auburn.
For those curious, I also picked FSU. Bob picked Auburn. I have lost all of my dignity yet, but for the last 3 days I've been reminded that he's beating me.
One other note. There have been 4 BCS games. Bob and Alz picked Michigan State. Those have been the only correct picks. We all picked Baylor, Alabama and Ohio State. Good thing none of us do this for a living.

This one looks like it's ovah.

Have I got this right? ESPN has the game on one of its channels, and they have people tallking about the game on two other channels?

Actually, they also have people talking about it on ESPN 3, but you have to have the Watch ESPN app to see it.

Very entertaining game. And I maintain some sense of pride in my house.

The fake punt changed the tenor of the game. How does that happen? Auburn is kicking FSU from one end of the field to the other and then one play turns it into a whole different ballgame.
And I have to say that as good as Kirk Herbstreit is, Musberger is a 400-pound albatross around his neck. He didn't go all sex offender last night on anyone's girlfriend, but he's gone beyond annoying. If last night's game hadn't been for the BCS championship, I probably wouldn't have bothered watching because of him.

No disrespect to Fors or any Missouri fan out there (I know you're in the SEC, but you haven't been there long enough to be consumed by the conference snobbing horseshit attitude that most SEC fans have), but I'm soooooooooo fucking glad the college champion isn't from the SEC. Thank you Florida State. a few million people had to wake up this morning realizing that there are other teams in the country who can also play a decent game of football. It must have been dreadful for those assholes!
I didn't think I'd be winning after how bad I did picking the 4 point games... Only got one of them. I didn't realize everyone got shelled on those.

Yeah, but it took a team from the southeast to do it.
I understand that there's a lot of SEC-fatigue that exists outside of the conference, but I find myself rooting for the conference because it helps the perception of the team I root for. Missouri finished the season as the #5 team in the country in both polls. Now that's only good enough for #3 of the SEC schools, but ranked higher than the best team in the Big XII, the Pac 12 and that other conference f/k/a the Big East that received an automatic BCS spot.
Does that necessarily mean that Missouri is better than all of the teams behind it? No. But if it helps with recruiting, and in turn, helps the school field better teams in the future, it's a big deal. A school like Missouri needs all the help it can get from the "SEC Brand."

Fors. I know you're joking man, but that's going to put me on tilt. Don't be like the rest of the SEC trash dude. I'd rather you had herpes... It's much cleaner.

If you're an SEC fan and not a Missouri fan, then I feel awful for you, because you've been very quiet about who you follow, and I don't have any recollection of you being confrontational at all. You might just be the 2nd SEC fan that I've met in the last 8 years (outside of Missouri or A&M) that didn't act like a complete condescending dick when it comes to discussing the other 100+ division 1A teams. If I can find another 498 of you, that will bring those numbers close to even.

Alz, there's no question there are insufferable SEC fans, but there are insufferable fans who follow every team. But even in the loss, Auburn showed that the SEC's reputation is well deserved. Florida State steam-rolled every team it played this season, particularly in the ACC. It beat both Duke and Clemson (the #2 and #3 teams) by 40 points each.
The SEC certainly has some teams that aren't very good, but there are probably 7 teams in the conference that on any given night can probably beat anyone in the country. Other conferences will have 2, 3 or maybe 4 schools that it can say that about.
But you will never hear me say that there aren't good programs outside of the SEC. If I had to pick the two teams I thought looked the best during the bowl season it would be Oklahoma and Michigan State.

There's nothing wrong with that statement at all, and the SEC is a strong conference. I won't argue any of that. The SEC is very strong.
I've met tons of insufferable fans of teams (I can be considered one with Oregon). I've never met insufferable conference fans before this SEC run started.

The conference allegiance is sort of an odd thing. I'll be the first to admit that I would never root for the Cubs or Dusty's Reds to win a playoff series. But Mizzou caught a bunch of shit when it left the Big XII-2-1-1+2. People (Texas fans in particular) tried to, and still blame Missouri for the fact that Nebraska and Colorado left the conference. And of course, we heard plenty about how Mizzou would never compete in the SEC (particualrly during and after last season).
That said, Missouri fans are probably a little more sensitive about the conference loyalty, particularly when it comes at the expense of its former conference. I can personally say I was unhappy when Oklahoma beat Alabama, and I was definitely one of the fans shouting S-E-C, S-E-C, after Ray returned Sam's strip-sack and clinched the Cotton Bowl.
But you can't fully appreciate the weirdness of conference loyalty unless you have a subscription to Rivals, and spend time on their main message board. There are Tennessee fans who honestly think they'd have gone 10-2 in the ACC or B1G, and Ole Miss fans acting like their school had won the last 7 national championships. I'm not anywhere near that crazy.

funny... That's where most of my conference hatred began. Rivals. Missouri fans acting crazy about their beloved SEC being so great... Ole Miss doing the same, but at least they have history... Every SEC fan response to anything else being, "You suck, you're not even good enough to play in the SEC East!"
I finally gave it up, and blew it off as just internet bravado, then I took a trip to Florida in Oct/Nov.... These people are just as fucking ridiculous... It's not internet bravado, it's actual personality... I began to simply despise it.
