Maddux, Glavine and Thomas to the HoF

Biggio just missed with 74.8%.  Clemens and Bonds fall short.

Biggio should have been a lock and someone actually voted for jones.  You should get ur ablity to vote taken for such acts.

"Biggio should have been a lock"

The argument that he was a very good player and not a great player is valid, but he was very good long enough to amass 3,000 hits, which ought to be enough to get him in.

Biggio was an awesome player imo.  Without looking i remember him as a 15/70/.280 guy for 20 years on the same team.  He played half the positions on the diamond at some point in his career.  With most of them being at second base i think that earns him brownie points.  His numbers are much more impressive as a second baseman and he might have been out of the league 5 years sooner had he not been a second baseman.  He is probably one of if not the best second baseman of his time.  I realize the compitition at second base for that title is limited.  My biggest ill memories of biggio was his big ass arm protection he used to steal hbp.  I always felt like when he did that the next time he came uphe should have been drilled in the back.

He also played in the outfield for a spell, and that he was willing to change positions to do what was best for the team enhances his HoF credentials, at least it would to me if I had a vote.
In general, the only argument I don't buy is leaving off McGwire, Sosa, Palmeiro and the other steroid boys and voting for Bonds and Clemens under the rationale they were HofF-caliber players before they started using PEDs. Either vote them all in and acknowledge they played in the Steroid Era, or leave them all off. And the PED argument against guys like Bagwell and Piazza who have no documented evidence of steroid use and/or an admission is even more spurious. Not voting for Piazza because you saw him without a shirt in the clubhouse and he seemed to have an increased amount of back hair is about the flimsiest evidence there is.

I may have loose morals but it is retard to apply some gut feeling moral code to the hof vote.  Does amyone really think there isnt already people in the hall that used ped or that there wont be in the future?

I've always thought the Pro Football Hall of Fame was at least consistent. There is a murderer, two accused child rapists, an owner who was a virulent racist, and an untold number of drug addicts in there, and all that matters to the selection committee is what happened on the field.
