Not sure why, but it felt like this story belonged in this thread.

I wish him luck.  He has the advantage of being a lefty and breath.  If he is really 90 then he should have trouble getting an invite.

In other news, Sidd Finch has retired from the competitive snow-shoeing circuit and is attempting a comeback with the Mets.

lol.

Seriously though. I know there's this "pride" thing, but if I'm an athlete, I'm probably going to take the Brett Favre path (best summed up by Daniel Tosh).

Interviewer: You have an offer for 12 million to play quarterback next year, Brett.
Brett: I think I'll play next year.
Interviewer: But everyone thinks you should walk away and retire.
Brett: You said 12 million right? They can go f--- themselves. I'm playing. And what's the second string make? 4 million? Go ahead and pen me down for that too. After a few more seasons, 3rd string? 700K holding a clipboard? Yep I'll take a healthy shot of that too. Thanks.

If someone was going to pay me to play sports, I would do it until they came to their senses...

Re: Mulder Attempting Comeback (Not. A. Joke.)

Im not sure what mulder would make on a major league invite but i am guessing it is pretty comparable to what he is making as a broadcaster considering the physical toll pitch does on a guy.  I doubt this has anything to do with money.  Mulder is pretty competitive.  He mess around becoming a pretty good golfer after his career ended.

There is a ton of midlevel take a chance type guys.  It is kind of nice not to be debating over which one the cards should sign for once.

And Mulder's comeback is over.

Ruptured an Achilles' tendon doing agility drills today.

Stick to broadcasting. That probably wouldn't happen in the studio.
