I'm starting to get worried about Miller.
His location has been suspect, but baseballs are catching that wind current and flying out of the ballpark. I haven't seen anyone, especially a left-handed hitter, ever hit a ball where Alvarez's first homer went.

The biggest drawback of Extra Innings is there's only one HD channel, and tonight there's a hockey game on it.I bought a new tv a few months ago. I havent watch any sports in hd till tonight. It awesome. Like really awesome.
I don't know why anyone bothers broadcasting anything in standard definition anymore. It's like watching TV through a sheet of cellphone.
I couldnt agree more. I think fsmw only airs a small amount of games in standard. Why they do those, idk.

I hate alvarez.

Argh. "Cellophane." It's reflexive. I've written too many police log items that involve misuse of cellphones.

Why pull the infield in?

Martin threw his shoulder into the path of the ball. How do the third base umpire and the home plate umpire not see that?

Boy, that's some horse shit umpiring.

I assume to have a better shot of having a play at the plate. I dont favor it tho.

No idea, Maness got exactly what he wanted, too.

He is on the grass. It is as simple as that. What is there to argue about?

Wait, was there only a runner on third, or runners on first and third? In all the chaos, I don't remember.

I believe just third.

I think it's OK for him to be on the grass, but he makes a slight turn to the left to get into the path of the throw. I don't think he can do that.

Then I'm OK with it.

By rule or by common use? By rule id think the baseline is on the dirt. If ur not on the dirt ur interfering with the field.

Walking alvarez is only logical but id do it more often.

Sigh, this blows!

Sending the runner with an 8-2 lead in the eighth? Hmmmm ...

I don't know what the rule book says. You're taught to go down in foul so if a batted ball hits you, you're not out, and back in fair to prevent a pickoff throw from the catcher. But if the catcher hits you with a throw, I'd guess it's up to the umpire to decide if it's an intentional obstruction, which it seemed to be in this instance. Martin is dead. His only hope is trying to throw himself in front of the ball.

It was explained to matheny that the baserunner pick his lane and as lomg as he doesnt clearly move into the throwing path or raise his arms it is not interferance. I guess martins actions were not deemed clear.
