Wong goes down

Robinson as well.  I like both moves.  I think garcia will be a nice option at second and short.  At least he will provide a change of pace and hopefully some energy.  There is plenty of playing time to be won being that he can play both positions.  The same can be said with grichuk.  Should be fairly easy for him to steal some playing time from struggling craig or the combo lf bourjos and jay.

Re: Wong goes down

They need something. They've got four guys who were supposed to be regulars hitting under .200.
I think I read somewhere this will be Shano's last trip to the minors. It's up again for good or out.

Re: Wong goes down

I have a feeling we've seen the last of Shane Robinson.  With the abundance of outfielders the Cardinals have in Memphis, I just don't see a sceanario in which he comes back.

An option is good for the season.  They could shuttle Robinson up and down as much as they want this season, but after than he'd have to pass through waivers.

Re: Wong goes down

Robinson is useless to the cardinals.  I dont blame them for letting him make the team.  They didnt know enough about the memphis guys.  They didnt know bourjos and craig wouldnt hit and they woukd need a bat.  Now that they know all this and now that the memphis guys are hitting robinson is pointless.  He would be fine on a team that needed a fourth outfielder that main purpose is defensive replacement.  That just isnt the cardinals.

Bouncing the two new players between cf, rf, 2nd, and ss is exactly what this team needs.  Now it is up to the new guys to preform

Re: Wong goes down

I was all for the signing of Ellis, but he looks as washed up as Wigginton. Matheny giving Wong two weeks of regular at-bats then casting him aside was ridiculous. And while Bourjos has sucked in the time he's received, getting casted aside after a week and a half's worth of games was equally stupid. They've gotten older, slower and worse on defense. Jon Jay's weekly three-hit game doesn't make the team better.
