Lynn's lack of concentration at times is annoying.

Giving up two-run singles to pitchers is also annoying.

Walking guys who are batting .206, .087 and .083 is really, really annoying.

Dear Lance,
Please stop nibbling when you pitch to John Baker. He's only in the game so their real catcher can have a day off. I'm 51 years old, and I can strike him out. So throw three fastballs down the middle and don't worry about him.
Thanks,
Artie

So right now everything the cardinals have done looks wrong. They extended garcia, who is hurt. They extended craig who is hitting 220. They extended carp who is hitting 250. And at this point it seems clear that carp should have stayed at 2nd and they should have been shopping flr a real third baseman this offseason.

Is putting Adrian Johnson and Angel Hernandez on the same crew someone's idea of humor?

Why were they playing Valbuena so far to left?

I'm confident Craig will hit. I think Carpenter will be a .280 hitter if he stops pretending he's Joey Votto. I don't know if we're ever going to see an effective version of Garcia again.

AP, you forgot signing a DH to a 4-year contract to play shortstop.

A .280 lead off hitter who hits for no power while playing a power position isnt a good thing. I will agree, i have faith in craig.

Good point...and throw in having a first baseman play right field.

Where was Castro playing? Shallow left field?

I ate awesome barbecue for dinner tonight. Ribs. Pulled pork. Baked beans. Even the cole slaw was top notch.
Just felt like sharing that. There's nothing better than good barbecue.

Well thank goodness that happened.

It never went into extras. In the top of the ninth with the bases loaded and two outs, Yadi hit a 12-hopper to the left of second base that Castro somehow never got to or even knocked down to put the Cardinals ahead, 5-3.
Rosenhausen got the first two outs in the bottom of the ninth pretty easily, but then he started dicking around and fell behind the next three hitters. He walked Bonifacio on a 3-2 changeupThen he fell behind Valbuena, who got a meaty fastball and doubled off the weeds in left-center. That brought up Rizzo, who grounded out to first to end the game.
