Cardinals play this afternoon. Some notes:
-Garcia is starting against the Braves Saturday
-Marco Gonzales, the first pick from a year ago, has been promoted to Springfield. He struck out 32 batters against eight walks and one home run in 37 2/3 innings at Palm Beach. I'm curious to see how aggressive they get with him, assuming he pitches well.

Didn't Gonzalez have a minor arm issue this Spring? If so, it appears it healed OK.

"Garcia is starting against the Braves Saturday"
Oh good. Now 60 percent of the rotation is going to look like they're going to get an office detention every time they have the nerve to shake off Molina.

How would you like to be comming back from injury right now? Unless garcia can pitch a 12 inning shutout the odds are against him.

Cueto is on her way to a seventh straight start of 8+ innings. Adam Wainwright is the only Cardinals pitcher to go eight this season. Another depressing stat: Cardinals pitchers have only pitched 7+ innings nine times this season. Seven have been by Wainwright.

Carpenter called out on strikes ... again.

And Peralta called out on strikes. Keep driving up that pitch count, boys!

Hey, at least Holliday struck out swinging. 17 pitches for Hammel in the first inning. At that rate, he'll only be able to throw six shutout innings before the Cubs have to go to their bullpen.

That'll make Brennadork's penis go erect. He likes her. A lot.

Who are these players?

I can't believe Wacha got a hit. He's one of the worst hitters I've ever seen.

Nah, it's early. These are probably the only runs the Cardinals score. The Cubs will get 1 in the 4th, 6th and 7th. Rosenhausen will start the 9th by over-throwing 12 straight fast balls to bring up Rizzo with the bases loaded and no one out.
We'll see what happens from there.

I'm not watching, but if Hrabosky is calling the game he probably said that the key at-bat in the inning was Ellis grounding out.

This forum is funnier when the Cardinals suck.

How many times this year have the Cardinals scored runs in successive innings?

I was thinking the same thing. The bar has been set at four. It's up to the Cubs to surpass it.

Well, he did drive in a run, and moved the runners up a base for Wacha.

How about two?

And that's how the low the bar has been set for Veteran Presence.

You've got a better chance of winning the lottery than the Cardinals do of scoring another run.

Another complete game for Cueto. She's been good this season.
