Why are they hesitating to swing at Vogelsong's blistering 88 mph fastball?

Is it me, or does it always seem like Gregor Blanco is a pain in the Cardinals' ass?

If Bourjos could just hit .250...

News flash: The Cardinals failed with runners on.

Opposing fans bitch about the Cardinals and their pixie dust, but find another team that takes shit players like Gregor Blanco, Andres Torres, Ryan Vogelsong, Brandon Hicks, Marco Scutaro and Mike Morse and turns them into two world titles and the BRIB.
Garcia is giving up way, way too many home runs.

Good to see Craig going deep, but is he going to be able to do that when pitchers start throwing him inside again? Sorry if I'm being too negative tonight.

Did Wong get stuck in quicksand?

What the FUCK was Martinez doing?

Martinez has his head jammed up his ass.

Not backing up the play at the plate, or just in general?

How about in life? I try not to make knee-jerk opinions, but for goodness sake, Martinez needs to be sent to Memphis.

Good thing the Cardinals double switched Wong out of the game.

I thought the same thing ... "Sure would be good to have a left-handed hitter who's batting .375 since he was recalled from Memphis instead of Shane Robinson to face Romo's slider here .."

I don't know what more MM needs to see before he makes Neshek the "high-leverage" righthanded reliever in the eighth inning. Martinez is just way too erratic at this point.

Seems like the cards are slipping back. As normal, its the bullpen.

I disagree. You've tried to make 3 now in the last week based on our position and achievement in May.

I'm unsure of what knee jerk opinion I've made.

Something about taking Craig out of the lineup, sending Martinez to Memphis for not backing up a play, and there wasn't an action on the third, just a general ire at the Cardinals RISP average.
Just seems like a lot of "The sky is falling" type crap... Are you losing money from the slow start areas? Calm down dude, it's May. We'll be okay... We don't need to send Craig or Martinez to the bench or the minors.... Deep breaths...

A few thoughts...
I never said Craig should be taken out of the lineup. My opinion is that he's playing like an old 30, similar to Freese. His recent surge notwithstanding, there's enough justification for the Cardinals to turn Craig and Adams into something of a platoon and bring Taveras up.
Martinez needs to go to Memphis because he's not performing here. He has ovepowering stuff and has a mediocre strikeout rate. Lefties are brutalizing him. Not executing pitches is one thing, but Martinez makes the situation worse when he fails to execute something as simple as backing up the catcher. He followed that up by nearly getting Craig killed on what should've been a routine throw to first.
The average with RISP was bound to take a fall because it's nearly impossible for a team to hit .330, much less .300, two straight years. That's not knee-jerk; it's just a matter of fact .
I don't think the sky is falling, but the Cardinals have played some bad baseball this week, which is disappointing given the opportunities they've had.

Platooning Craig (to me at least) reads like "taking him out of the starting lineup and putting him on the bench more" I don't know how else that could be taken...
Give the bullpen time to settle down... We just got Motte back and nobody knows who's got what role... It will settle down. As bad as Martinez has played, Miller has been worse.... So has Rosenthal... It'll work itself out.
Expecting a duplication of the RISP would be stupid in my opinion, so griping about it not happening seems silly..
Anyway .... like I said, it's May... Relax... Overall the last three weeks, we've played a lot better. Let's see where it goes before we complain about everything we don't like.
