Does Torres have a Dr. J circa 1976 afro under his cap? Or is actually the Predator?

Here we go with Rosenhausen.

I'm guessing Matheny will get sensitive if someone were to mention that Neshek should be the closer.

I think the out will stick. Nothing clearly says otherwise

Looks like he missed the tag.

On proper rest rosenthal has got the job done, barely. Still, like you said, neshek has been nails.

Regardless of the decision by the umps, doesn't change the fact that Rosenthal is getting lit up while the best pitcher in the bullpen is sitting on his ass.

If the call was safe on the field it would have stayed as well.

Bob Davidson needs to do something else. He no longer has the ability to be a major league umpire. I almost felt badly for him last night.

He didnt know what to do with the play at the plate. I think he called him out because he knew it would be reviewed. Then when the replays didnt show an angle where there was light between the jersey and the glove they had to stick with the call on the field even tho it was likely wrong. I think we are finding out with these replays that there isnt really a need for replay. It is just a waste of time.

I watched the play but had no sound. Did the umpire call him out on the tag or did he call him out for going 35 feet outside the basepath and leaving himself no possible way to slide into home plate?
He was going to make the out sign, then let the entire play unfold where the runner beat AJ back to the plate, then called him out anyway? I assumed they were calling him outside of the baseline, or the ump would have made the call without allowing that race to home to even occur, but I had no volume... If not, I think we got away with one, AJ missed the tag. The glove didn't register any impact at all on the tag attempt.

I'm not sure. Davidson pointed to the spot where Pierzynski caught the throw and made kind of a tepid out gesture. The Padres' announcers didn't mention it, but I thought the only chance the Cardinals had was because the runner went out of the baseline.
The people here at work seem to think the basepath rules from third to home aren't the same as they are for any other basepath, but it's not like you can stop in the dugout for a cup of water on your way to the plate.
