8/23

I was out with friends last night. Saw most of the game on a bar TV. That had to be the worst managed win in the history of baseball.

Can someone, anyone explain to me why our team's best hitter is batting 8th, and why we keep having him bunt to advance runners for the slugs on our bench?

Re: 8/23

I have no answer for either one of your questions other than Matheny is being superstitious and thinks Jay will stop hitting if he bats at the top of the lineup again.

Re: 8/23

The cardinals pythagorean record is 63 and 64.  Idk how this team is 12 games over .500.

Re: 8/23

I think I can explain that:

10-3
12-2
12-1
11-2
17-5

Those are their five biggest losses of the season and those are bad losses, getting outscored 62-13. Put it this way: 12 percent of the runs this team has allowed came in just five of the 128 games they've played. Most teams can balance out those kind of losses by putting up a blowout, but this offense just blows.
