Cobb

I just finished the book.  It took me forever to read it because I took a several month break just because I was busy I guess.  The book was hard to put down and purely awesome.  I could start the thing over again and enjoy it just as much.  I am not though.  Instead I am starting " The Bad Guys Won".  I was going to restart "Eight Men Out" but I remember the first time I tried to read that book it was painfully hard to follow and slow moving.

I won't spoil "The Bad Guys Won" for you, but I think in either the foreword or the acknowledgements the author recalls taking the first draft of the book to his publisher and the publisher commenting "This book is never going to sell. I hate everyone on the team. Except Ed Hearn." And the author reacting like he had told the story accurately.

Re: Cobb

I just finish "The Bad Guys Won".  I have a habit of setting down even good books and forgeting about them for weeks or months.  It is easy to turn on the TV instead.  This was an awesome book though.  Has anyone read Gooden's book "Heat"?  It was reffered to alot in this book.

Is that the one where he described Kevin Mitchell tearing the head off a cat?
