Mr. Kershaw coming again! Wants to prove he can lead the Dodgers to victory.
Here's why I'm optimistic:
Kershaw in the postseason.
1-4 with a 5.20 ERA
Against St. Louis (total) he's
0-3 with a 6.62 ERA
Against St. Louis the last two seasons? (This basically throws out 2009)
0-3 with an 8.33 ERA
I know Kershaw can pitch, but the Cardinals are Kershaw-killers.
Shelby Miller can win this game for us tonight, he's been good down the stretch and hasn't given up more than 3 earned runs in a game since August. He's also been under 90 pitches in each of his last 4 starts, and working on a lot of rest (14 days), so he shouldn't be tired.
It should be stated that to this point Shelby Miller's postseason record/ERA is not good, but I believe that was all relief work. I think tonight is his postseason debut.

14 days rest is scary...yikes

You remember Bud Norris? Guy was really not much of a pitcher unless he was on the mound against the Cardinals. He'd tear us up, without fail. We could beat the best pitcher (Randy Johnson) in baseball using Jiminez, and just have an offense to scare everyone.... But it wouldn't scare Bud Norris, he'd mow our shit down.
I'm pretty sure Clayton Kershaw is the complete polar opposite of Bud Norris. We have no business winning against him, but we do.

I know there is risk in throwing wainwright on short rest however i have to ask what is better? Your best pitcher on short rest or your fourth best pitcher on 2 weeks rest?

Except they threw their fourth best pitcher last night.
Winning last night means they don't have to move up Wainwright. Miller pitched well in September. He pitches well at home. Kershaw blew up last year pitching in the playoffs in St. Louis on short rest. Take a shot with Miller here. If you lose, you've still got Wainwright in Game 5.

Once upon a time, Norris was something like 7-1 against the Cardinals and 3-25 against the rest of the NL. But he had a good year this year. He's a legit #3 starter now on a good team. He's just not an ace.

Nine fastballs. I don't think I've ever seen Miller hit 97 before.

Looks like he had a nice first inning. Ill keep my doomsday attitude...it is what works

By my count, 23 out of 25 pitches have been fastballs.

Shadows are really a factor. The mound is in sunlight, and it's shade the rest of the way. I don't think Holliday saw the last two pitches of his at bat.

Crawford can't catch up to Miller's fastball.

This is going to be a fairly important inning. The middle of this order frightens me.

Another huge inning coming up.

If that was Molina calling the pitches, he did a really shitty job.

That might be it with the way Kershaw is going.

Apparently you haven't seen the kershaw history against St Louis. Until Mattingly pulls him with a lead, he's not over his demons. Game 1 wad over too remember? Then Clayton blew up.
Miller pitched great and was the right guy to give the ball to. We'll see how the game plays itself out over the last 2.5 innings, I'm not convinced we're beaten yet.

Well this is starting to look familiar....

So what were we saying about kershaw again? Lol
Boom Matt Adams says hello.

Now their bullpen has to beat ours by at least 1 run, and right now we still have three more outs than they do.
This isn't over, but the fat lady is preparing to take the stage.

Let not get ahead of ourselves. Rosenhausen will likely appear before this is over.

New prediction: There is no way Los Angeles goes quietly and this game remains 3-2

Why not get confident?
THERE'S NO WAY WE LOSE THIS GAME NOW!
Sometimes teams just have other teams numbers. Our bullpen is far better than LAs.
Rosenthal only makes it scary, he's still fairly reliant in actually getting you the win, but he will scare the shit out of you doing it.

Okay 6 outs to go, let's count it down. I'm not thrilled about Kemp going against Meshak myself, but this is the game here.
