Team by team.
#1 Alabama. If they win, they are certainly in as the #1 seed. A loss likely means Alabama is out of the top 4 with 2 losses.
#2 Oregon. If they win, they are certainly in as well. The only possibility for advancement is if Alabama loses.
#3 TCU. No conference title game, playing a terrible conference opponent who has 2 or 3 wins on the season. There's nothing they can do to improve unless others lose, but with all the power games going on around them, they could fall. A win may not keep them in the top 4, they need to blow this game out.
#4 Florida State. A win gets them a spot in the top 4, perhaps as high as #2, probably enough to put them back to 3. Georgia Tech is accomplished, and a great thing to put on the resume. If they lose, they are out.
#5 Ohio State University - I believe a strong win puts Ohio State into the top 4 regardless. I do see both FSU and OSU having the ability to put TCU out of the final 4 regardless of what TCU does.
#6 Baylor. I see no real way Baylor can get in at this point without hoping for losses. They could get a great win here, and have it also be enough to vault them over TCU, but with FSU and OSU doing the same thing, this still gets them to #5.
#7 Arizona. This one is interesting. I believe beating Oregon twice in a season should be enough to get them over TCU, OSU, Baylor and claiming a top 4 spot with Oregon falling out.
#8 Michigan St. Idle this week, and cannot get in without a lot of losses.
#9 Kansas St. Even a monster win over Baylor will not give them enough love, they would need a lot of losses too.
#10 Mississippi State idle and out. Even with a lot of losses, there is just no way. Arizona, Georgia Tech, Wisconsin and Baylor or Kansas State would all have stronger arguments to jump them.
That's really how I see it for the teams in the top 10 and what their hopes are. I think 5 teams control their own fate. Alabama, Oregon, FSU, OSU, Arizona.
The rest need some to a lot of luck in addition to a good closing.

Everybody is out except for fsu, Ohio state, Baylor at this point.
Oregon with a huge effort against Arizona. Missouri got a little close getting to 21-13, but Alabama was too much.
Going to be interesting seeing how it finishes.

It's a fair decision i think. All around the committee did well. Florida state got what they needed from Winston. I get to avoid Alabama with 3 weeks preparation which i think will give us a legitimate chance to beat them.
You can recondition a football team with a month. Especially if you're Saban.
I get to worry about FSU for a while, but I'm hopeful the game I've wanted for half a decade may finally happen. Oregon vs Alabama.
