Wow. Even after convincing Washington's GM that Jason Werth was a $120M player, Boras still can't convince anyone that Ankiel is the $10M/year talent he tried to sell us a couple of years ago.

This move will provide a real "shot in the arm" to the Nationals. The outfield really needs a "juiced" arm out there, and Ankiel can be a difference maker. A real "boost" to team "chemicals" ... er "chemistry".

It isnt 10 million but I was impressed by the deal Ankiel got. He gets 1.5mill and can earn another 1.25. That isnt bad for a guy who hit .230/6/30.

it would be interesting to add up all the money ankiel has earned from playing professional baseball and compare that to his performance. I wouldn't be surprised if he has earned $5-10 million, or more.
