Derrick Goold just said the weather is rough in Chicago. MLB's short-sightedness rears its head again. We've got stadiums in Seattle, San Francisco, Los Angeles, San Diego, Phoenix, Denver, Miami, Atlanta, Houston, Arlington and closed roofs in Milwaukee and Toronto. There's no way a schedule can't be put together that limits the amount of Midwest and east teams playing home games this week?

It never rained in Chicago tonight. Great to see that MLB is letting the Cubs abuse rainouts. I predict a postponement tomorrow as well.

Supposedly, the primary rationale for calling the game was so they could continue to install portable toilets after Sunday night's fiasco. Conveniently, Kris Bryant will be on the roster whenever they play the makeup game.
MLB should have awarded a forfeit to the Cardinals.

Yes, they should. The Cubs get an extra game of Bryant, they get to sell more tickets to a Cardinals game and they get to fix their fuck up with the toilets. What transpired yesterday was an abuse of the system with a happy assist from the front office.

Hopefully, last night's decision will come back to haunt the Cubs, just like postponing a game in 2007 due to overcast skies came back to bite the Mets in the ass. If you remember, the Mets took a rainout against the Cardinals on a Thursday night in June so they could get to Philadelphia for a weekend series that I believe included a day/night doubleheader on Friday.
The makeup game against the Cardinals was in the midst of the Mets' epic September collapse, and Joel Pineiro ended up throwing a 3-hit shutout against them.

I do remember. I think in a season full of duds that was one of the few bright spots.

More toilets wouldnt be that big of deal is cub fans would just stand to pee like most men.
