RANT:
Matheny is rolling with the same lineup again, which is a mistake. It's one of the things that drives me nuts. La Russa's lineups could be goofy, but you could always make sense out of them. Let's unpack the Cardinals lineup.
1. Matt Carpenter is batting .400 with a .450 OBP and already has 11 extra base hits. In one-third of his at-bats, he's already standing on second. That would be great, except...
2. Jason Heyward should change his number to "4-3"
3. Matt Holliday has a .500 OBP, but nobody to knock him in because...
4. Matt Adams has been inconsistent.
5. Jhonny Peralta has been solid, but...
6. Jon Jay follows him. Jay can't hit for extra bases, yet Matheny has him positioned behind three of the slowest guys you're going to find in any lineup.
7. Yadier Molina has been solid and his contributions are going to waste.
8. Kolten Wong can break games open, but he's batting in front of the pitcher.
It's time to shuffle the damn lineup.

Through 14 games, we have a 2.5 game lead in the Central and are just 1 game behind the Mets for tops in the National League, thanks mostly to them ripping off 10 wins in a row.
Maybe our expectations are just a little too high here?

Alz can speak for himself, but I think he's trying to say we're 10-4 and in first place so quit nitpicking the lineup.
FWIW- I agree with TK. At a minimum Wong should be moved up.

He got hit in the knee by a foul tip. Sorry, I've been riveted by the Bruce Jenner interview.
[Not really, We just came back from dinner.]

Six shutout innings from the #5 starter.
I'm just sayin' ...

Brewers or not, he's looked incredible.

Mitch Harris is a great story, but why are the Cardinals sacrificing a roster spot for him? If Scruggs or someone else is up, Matheny can use Reynolds there. Just a silly misuse of the roster by Matheny and Mozeliak. Mozeliak should know better.

Kid's become a pitcher.

He's pitching better now than he did in Memphis.

We should start taking bets for the date of Walden's Tommy John surgery.

They've booked his surgery for May 25.

He's ripping Badenhop for giving up four runs in the 11th, but the Reds have left something like 16 runners on base. It amazes me that someone who has watched that much baseball has no idea what he's talking about.

Matheny said he thinks they need another reliever more then anna or whoever they called up. Idk if they made that roster more or not. That was said during tony tv or whatever they call it now

Team is 11 and 4 with 6 games to go in the month. 2 vs brewers and 4 vs phillis(im not correcting that). Idk wht the best april in team history is but this has to rank up there. Or have the ablity to rank up there. They can surely win 3 against these bottom feeders.

Except for the fact that they've played most of their games on the road, they may have had the easiest April schedule. The only team they've played or are going to play this month that's going to be a contender is Warshington.
