I'm sure they'll announce 40,000+, but today's crowd looks somewhat similar to yesterday's pictures of Camden Yards.

That's a big zero for Cooney. Last thing they needed was to play the whole game behind. Need to jump on Philly early.

Chase Utley and his .114 batting average get the day off against the lefty.

Damn, I need to ask for runs more often.

Good start ...

44 pitches, 23 balls through 2 innings isn't going to cut it.

Someone who's watching please tell me McCarver said: "The Phillies will gladly trade two outs for a run with runners on first and third an no one out" after Heyward's GIDP.
It's one of McCarver's go-to moves, along with his story about Uecker shagging fly balls with a tuba before a game in the '64 World Series.

Cooney may be back in Memphis by the time this one ends.

Yeah, Marco Gonzales needs to get healthy in a hurry. I'm not watching, but that appears to have been a complete disaster. I wonder how many innings they can really get out of Charlie Newhouse (the English version of Carlos Villanueva). They badly need him to save the bullpen. Six or seven more runs would be helpful too.

Jesus, way to fuck up a potential scoring opportunity.

They just said marco wont make another minor league start till may 10. They also said garcia made a sim start and will make at least one more of them. Villanueva has got 2 or 3 starts coming his way.

Appears he's a better option than Cooney.

I'm pretty sure the five of us could make the Phillies' bullpen.

Nice. What's wrong with Marco, anyway?

I wonder if MM doesn't chalk up Cooney's start today as "jitters" and gives him another opportunity.

I believe it was reported as a strained pectoral.

I really hope not. I haven't watched a pitch, but this is a putrid lineup Cooney faced. And were Cardinals were very lucky to be facing a putrid starting pitcher. Cooney's next start would be against the Cubs. Yes, they're the Cubs, but they're a lot better than Philadelphia.

How is McCarver not on Twitter? Hell, even I'm on Twitter, and I've got nothing to say.

Huh? How? Was he breastfeeding?

I get that Matheny wants more runs, but did he really feel that Manness couldn't have protected a 5 run lead?

According to Shannon, the Cardinals are reporting Garcia looked good in his simulated game. Has a team ever announced that a guy pitched a simulated game and he would have gotten lit up?

Matheny took the over at 11.

OK, there's a real team in town this weekend. Let's see how it goes ...

We miss Gerritt Cole both this weekend and next. We should Liriano both series though.
