Looking at their lines today, and stats YTD, I'm feeling a lot more comfortable with that trade.

I have no idea what's happened to Craig. He's long past the point where his injury in 2013 ought to be a factor. Kelly may end up being one of those guys with a lot of talent who can't put it together. It's unfortunate, because he seems like a decent kid.

I remember at the time of the trade you said the Boston media was engaged in a circle jerk over how much of a steal this trade was for Boston. How's the perception of the trade now?

Part of that was because Lackey had consistently said he would rather retire than play for $500,000 in 2015, so they thought the Red Sox were getting two young players for two months of Lackey.
Based on getting out from under Craig's contract, I'm not sure the Cardinals don't win the trade even if Lackey had retired after 2014.

Just announced on the St. Louis broadcast that the Red Sox optioned Craig to AAA.

I could be wrong, but Craig probably should've sat out the World Series. His foot never had the chance to properly heal and now I'd say the damage is irreparable.
As for Kelly, I have no idea what's happened to him.

McAdam is a pretty good reporter, but he has no sense of humor. His articles usually read like the fate of the free world depends upon whether the Red Sox can get a quality start out of Wade Miley.
