Re: 5/17 GC

As if the first one wasn't bad enough, there's a "Ted 2?"

There were parts of the first one that were hilarious. The scene where he's in the boss' office trying to get fired was pure gold.

Re: 5/17 GC

I don't like Marky Mark anyway, and I don't think any of Seth Macfarlane's work is very funny or clever. He's the inventor a new genre of "comedy" that relies on meanness. Daniel Tosh and Anthony Jeselnik aren't funny, they're just mean.

Re: 5/17 GC

Daniel Tosh sucks and I've always hated him.

I was watching "Family Guy" at 16 when it became this cult hit dicked around with by Fox on different time slots. I watched an episode on TBS, got hooked and haven't stopped watching since. I fully admit it is the most juvenile, asinine and offensive show, but I'm still watching at almost 30. There's a good chance I'm still laughing at this in another 15 years, too. Somehow my mom started watching one day and now she's a consistent viewer.

If you guys think less of me, I understand.

I was aware of it, of course, but I never really watched it until my son started to. It has some moments, but there are more moments when it's just gratuitous.
Working backwards, I thought I saw in that clip that John Slattery is in Ted 2, apparently playing a prick again, something he's been training for his whole life. So now I have to brace myself from more blowback from my high school friends after he conducts another round of interviews touting his prowess as a baseball player when he was growing up. Unfortunately, none of the people he actually grew up with have any recollection of his prowess as a baseball player.

7th and 8th grade, then he went to a private school. His nickname was "Slut." Hey, we in junior high. We weren't supposed to be clever.

Hahaha. Was that supposed to be offensive? I would've been pretty thrilled to have that name!

I don't think he embraced it, but I don't think he opened rebelled against it.
There was another kid one grade older who had an orange afro, and his detractors called him "Fungus." He didn't like that much.

Well it sounds like you had more high-profile classmates. I would say at least five of my classmates have done prison time. Not an exaggeration.

I'm not aware of any felons in my graduating class, but the guy who was voted "Most Likely to Succeed" is a used car salesman.

When I went to my 10 year reunion, there were 5-6 people I had personally arrested.  None were felons, mostly traffic tickets and minor stuff like that, but that was the last reunion I attended for a long time.

Yeah, you might think, but not really.

I'll never forget one of the first traffic stops I ever made was a guy I had known since grade school.  When he rolled down his window, it literally looked like a scene from a Cheech and Chong movie as the cloud of smoke wafted out of the window. I laughed, and asked him where I was going to find the marijuana, and his response was "ain't no marijuana in the car. I done smoked it all."

He was right, and we ended up letting him go with just the original ticket from the traffic stop.

Can't you arrest him on the basis it was "more probable than not" he was driving under the influence of narcotics?

Could I have? Yeah. But in 7 years I probably didn't make 10 DWI arrests that didn't involve an accident or some other sort of misconduct. The reports were messy and took you out of service for way too long which created a risk of leaving the street short handed. And in the end, there were virtually no consequences. If I thought someone shouldn't be driving, I was a lot more likely to take them to the station and make them call someone than to arrest them.

They are real cocksuckers.  More work then any real crime.  I wish i worked in a era when you could still just take someone home without the possibility  of all hell breaking loose.  If MADD SADD GLAD or whatever other acronym  wanted to make real progress they would push to do away with the stupid human tricks and let modern technology solely provide probably cause.  It would cut down on the pain in the ass of the report and make for a more accurate probably cause.

Try working in a community of leas then 10,000.  You know everyone.  You get to arrest neighbors. They stop by ur house.  Just went to court today on guy who guy who lives close by. He hates my guts.   Im okay with it but it makes you uneasy when im not home with my family.

A guy i had a handful of college classes shot up the capital in springfield and killed a security worker.  I can only think of a few high school class mates who went to prison but i can think of many that need to go.

Know exactly how you feel. University City had probably 40,000 people, but it is only spread out over about 8 square miles. My grandparents' house (where I grew up) backed up to a creek. Directly across the creek was the Martin house. Daniel Martin was a year behind me in school and his little brother David was 2 years behind him. They moved a lot of crack and heroin out of that house until we finally busted them. Nothing like setting up a perimeter during the execution of a search warrant and being able to stand in your own back yard.

As far as major criminals go, there was a kid who lived a street over who was a couple years older but I knew pretty well who was arrested for a string of bank robberies. Another kid I knew from kindergarten on ended up a child molester. The most notorious of guys I went to school with was the guy who ambushed and killed a U. City police sergeant. I didn't really know him, but he graduated a year ahead of me.

Re: 5/17 GC

My neighbors 2 house up get the cops called on them all the time.  They are drunk welfar fucks.  Wife, boyfriend, exhusband, son and sons k2 burnt out friend all live there.  The exhusband is boyfriend with the guy who is banging his wifes wife.  They swapped.  .  U follow that shit.  Ive taken k2 burn out to the mental hospital many times.  The exhusband has a warrant now but i wont serve it because he stays hidden and out of everyones hair when he is wanted.  Plus next time i have to deal with him it is a free solution.

My other neighbor was arrested for accessory to murder and went to prison for it when he was a teen.  Got a call the other day he had got into it with his wife and a cop who was relation was going to go see if he could get them split.  Asked me to be close.  I sat on my gazebo an watched him.

I investedgated another neighbor for stealing 2 tvs because his renter didnt pay their rent.

The guy i referenced in my first post i arrested for reckless discharge.

I arrested a kid who grew up next to me at my parents house for dui when he passed out on the highway.  Good family.

Idk y the fuck i do this for 40,000 a year.  You pretty much give up the right to be seen comfortably in public because everyone knows what you do and either wants a favor or already hates you.  Or wants advise or inside info.  Everyone thinks it is dealing with assholes at work that makes the job hard.  Thats the easy part.  It is the seperation from society and people constantly thinking they could do your job better then you.  That you never make the right decision or spitefully make decisions.  plus politics, holy fuck politics,  is what sucks about the job.  Id rather respond to a active shooter/murder with only 2 officers as backup, which is what happend last week, then deal with the drama side of the job.  And the murder took place 5 blocks from my house.  That was a freak deal tho.  I really dont live in that bad of a place either.  Its the nicest town in this county.  Sounds like shit tho.

I am lucky enough to work for a community that doesnt not normally fight or resist police.  For the most part they dont want to harm us.  For that im happy.

A least u had a place to go if you needed to shit or refuel. I just hope if anyome shows up to my house pissed im home to deal with it.
