5/19 GC

I argued against it this spring when AP said it, but right now Reynolds needs to play over Adams. The team needs the power threat.

Re: 5/19 GC

Grichuk is either going to turn into a less obnoxious version of Carlos Gomez, or the outfield version of Reynolds.

WTF was the second baseman doing on Wacha's bunt?

Had the second baseman played that right, this post would have read WTF was Wacha doing bunting?

Gary Cohen on SNY: "If you watch Daniel Murphy long enough, you'll see things you've never seen before on a baseball field."
It wasn't intended as a compliment.

I love Joe Buck, but he was defending their fans for not showing up last night. I don't care if Bernie Madoff made off(?) with all the Wilpons money; it was Matt Harvey Night and 23,000 people showed up. The Cardinals could have Matt Adams Night at Ballpark Village and get 23,000 people to show up.

And that's in a city of 9 million. In defense of their nerdy fan base, the Mets don't make it easy for you to get to their ballpark, unless you live in Queens or have your own plane. You can't drive there from any of the other boroughs except for the southeast part of the Bronx. In order to take the subway, even from most of Brooklyn, you have to connect from either Times Square or Grand Central, which means going to Manhattan and dealing with all that nonsense. And it's a long friggin' ride with a couple dozen stops.

Apropros of nothing, but I saw Jack Leathersich play in high school ...

Good move by Matheny to get Tui back on the mound right away.

Re: 5/19 GC

I'l give credit to Matheny for one thing over his predecessor - he doesn't bury guys. Once you ended up in La Russa's doghouse, you quickly found there were no exit doors.

I think Ray King can only come back to St. Louis with a gypsy caravan under the cover of complete darkness.

From the gift shop in the concourse behind the Cardinals' clubhouse?
What do you bet the player who loaned him the bat said "If you break it, keep running until you see a sign that reads 'Welcome to Connecticut '"

Its okay.  Im usually right.  Really tho, im just unimpressed with adams. He is an alright player but he doesnt fit what the cards need and he plays a position that is an option for a bat.  How can adams be so far and just hit singles.

I assume he though the first baseman was covering and he was charging.  Idk, that doesnt seem like a common way to protect against the bunt.

Taking cost into consideration and the fact that this lineup is lefty heavy, you may be correct.

Idk about that yet.  A guy that can strike out as much as he has still has a long ways to go to become a everyday option.  However when u weigh him against the 7 years 12-15 million heyward is going to bring i think we wins.

1. He isnt a long term committment and someone else can be brought in if he fails.
2. He will hit for more power then heyward
3. His average cant be much worst the heyward
4. Heyward is a better defender but grichuk isnt lance berkman out there.

Heyward is going to have to really increase his worth to make me think anything of him.  I take miller back and grichuk in right in a second.
