The Cardinals had four baserunners and scored zero runs in the second.

That was a pretty crappy effort

Just noticed that Heyward has quietly raised his average to .279.
Not suggesting this means they should try to re-sign him, but I think it's safe to say the team will be able to tender him and get a draft pick assuming they can't reach a deal.

Joe Maddon just filed a protest because the lights went out at Wrigley.

And what's gotten into the Phillies? They've scored 10 runs so far tonight against the Yankees.

Ok, about 25 percent of the lights flickered with one out in the bottom of the sixth. It took them a couple of minutes to reheat, but Maddon went out to argue that it still wasn't bright enough to resume the game. It was an obvious attempt to disrupt Kershaw, who started getting pissed. The umpires told Maddon to get off the field, and he protested the game. With the Cubs leading, 2-1.

Wonder if the L.A. Times will run a column today suggesting Kershaw lost to the Cubs because the Cardinals hacked the Astros' computer system.
