At the moment we're getting some help from Pham.......

Serious question--should the Cardinals be looking to trade Bourjos? He's buried in the outfield, and they can't send Pham back to Memphis without trying to pass him through waivers. You would think Bourjos might have enough value to bring them someone better than Harris/Sokolovich/Tuivailaila, etc...

Wong continues to be a conundrum.

Does Grichuk have a hole in his bat?

I'm guessing they won't move him until they figure out what's going on with Jay's wrist.

Yeah, that was pretty bad

There's a guy in the stands at PNC Park wearing a Pirates cap and a t-shirt that reads "Cleveland baseball." People like that ought to be kicked in the shin just on principle.

Oh Jaime, again. ?
At least it's not his arm this time. The Cat said today he will come back after the AS break, which means he'll only miss one more start.
Lackey goes tomorrow. The P-D is reporting Cooney and Lyons will go in the doubleheader on Tuesday, and you're back on course with the regular rotation with Wacha on Wednesday. I'll assume the first three games of the Pittsburgh series will be Tsunami, Lynn, and Lackey, and then on Sunday you can start either Lyons or Cooney, whoever pitches better on Tuesday, with the other in long relief.
I still think the Cardinals should petition MLB for a forfeit because it didn't rain the night the Cubs postponed the game, or at least make the Cubs play with the 25-man roster they had at the time.

It didn't rain, but the field was soaked in urine from the lack of working toilets.

I don't know about anyone else, but I'm relieved Carpenter and Molina aren't starting in the AS game. And I hope they're not named to the team. Those two guys in particular could use four days off (so could Peralta for that matter; his swing looks slow lately).
Home field in the WS aside, I'm long past the point where I care about National League pride in the AS game or in interleague play. I hope every NL team but the Cardinals goes winless in interleague play.

Yep the Cards could use this break probably more than anyone......
Wham Bam thank you Pham!
I did not view game but apparently another good outing by Lynn!
