The conventional 5-4-2 double play.

Is this the same rain from Chicago last night?

Good grief I thought Grichuk had that beaten by a mile.

So Comcast installed its fancy new X1 system in our house today. The TV remote control has a voice-activation feature. So if you want to go to, say, ESPN, you press the button with a microphone on it and say "ESPN" and the channel changes to ESPN.
I just pressed the mic button and asked for the Cardinals to score three runs in the top of the third inning.

Yeah. Martinez is trying to hit Gung Ho Junk with an 0-2 pitch leading off the 4th inning of a 0-0 game.
I too worry bout starters after rain delay. This one was not long and Martinez is not huge..........maybe he not require complete re-boot?

Schilling had a prescient comment about that after the rain delay a couple of weeks ago. When you come back out, you don't have the same top end velocity and your control isn't as precise. Obviously, what I used to do wouldn't even be considered pitching compared to Schilling, but that's the way I always felt, too.
Pitt may get perplexed "WTF here we go again" or think "we almost go this guy, if we keep doing as we are......good things ahead". either way their domes are filling up.

Yes, like you said (capability) and "tommy freakin john". Martinez just looks so slight. they say 6'3" 200lbs? he looks 5'10" 175lbs or so.
Think how good Heyward could be if "they" fixed his setup and swing. He is doing best he can but he looks "off"

Your remote has a delay, but it's acceptable.

Cardinals website says 6', 185 so your numbers are probably really close.

There have been some unusual double plays in this game.

Whatever size he is, he's been the Cardinals' best starting pitcher this year.

I seem to remember talk early this year about whether the Cardinals should include Martinez in a trade for Hamels. Not much of that talk these days.

Interesting decision coming up. Considering the pitching matchups for the rest of the series, this is a game you have to win. Do you try to nail it down with Rosenthal, or do you stay with Maness and/or bring in Siegrist? If you go with Rosey, he's probably off-limits tomorrow, but you may need Maness and Siegrist tomorrow and/or Saturday.

Walk is complaining that Wong is complaining about getting plunked. Except Wong didn't complain. And in fairness, neither did Kang.

I would have stayed wirh Maness. Let's see how it works out ...

Pretty fat pitch there....

I've never seen one hit there.
Now you have to bring in Rosenthal to quiet the bloodthirsty shut-ins.
