Beats out Cueto AND Kershaw

Unfortunate. I hope he doesn't end up pitching in the game.

I find myself wanting all cards players to not make or play. What is the point. Also think it is smart not to bring holliday back before the break.

So that MBMRO can't say dumb things like, "Is Carlos Martinez really that good?"
PITT blew up early when umps missed one? just one? umps miss a lot! not as bad as any NFL game IMO.
too much chirping. Frankly I thought too much by Cardinals in CHI series? IF K-zone is worth anything, sometimes the umps are actually correct yet players chirp. If they don't install some technology and they want to live with this 1800's mentality, umps rule.
AND where are any posts? SAT game is 3-1 in top of 7! game on.

I didn't realize Greenwood was on the roster . Did they call him up during the game ?

They brought him and Tuivailala up earlier in the day, I believe.
Since it's probably too late for a separate thread on Saturday's game I'll post here that I bailed after it became clear this team was incapable of dealing the knockout blow. So many missed opportunities when the Bucs were on the ropes. When MM double-switched Heyward out for Bourjos my confidence dropped further, and then when Reynolds' fake bunt got Yadi picked off in the 10th, I didn't really feel his subsequent HR quite made up for it. And once Rosenthal had been used, the writing was on the wall. I don't hate the effort this team put up, I'm just disappointed they couldn't score enough runs to take control of the game with all the chances they had.

Tuivailala pitched well. The entire game changed when Reynolds couldn't handle the pickoff throw from Siegrist when McCutchen was at first.
The aptly named Root Sports PxP guy called MCucthen's walkoff home run "maybe the greatest thing ever in the history of Pittsburgh." I understand he tends to get a little overly excited, but I'm not sure what he meant. A home run in a baseball game in July is the greatest monent in a city's history? What must poor Bill Mazeroski think? To say nothing of the '79 team coming from 3-game-to-1 behind to beat the Orioles. Or Roberto Clemente's 3,000th hit. Or anything Honus Wagner ever did.
Or the Stealers. I mean, they cheated their way to most of the Super Bowl *championships* but there must have been some memorable moments. Or Tony Dorsett and the '76 NCAA football champiionship.
To say nothing of the city's non-sports history. I'm sure there's something Pittsburghers did at some point to achieve some kind of acclaim. If not, hey, it's still not Buffalo.
