Lackey vs. Bartolo el Gigante

Welcome back, Matt Holliday.

How 'bout a comfortable 9-2 win tonight?

Almost kind of disappointed with only four runs, with the pus Colon is throwing.

Run it up, Cardinals!

This needs to be all for Lackey . He's done his job for tonight .

Let Choate pitch ........

Someone needs to tell McLaughlin that Lester's no-hit bid is over.

If Sololovich can't finish an inning with an 8-1 lead, he shouldn't be on the team.

Socolovich walks some guy even his mother hasn't heard of with a 6-run lead.

I know the halo that Torres is wearing makes all the sense in the world, but it just looks weird.

It was a clean single to right. I guess the scorer changed a hit earlier in the game to an error, but the game is in Atlanta.

Kozma should not be allowed to use a Zeppelin song as his walkup music.

5 for 5 and the DL. ?

Fors, did you hear McLaughlin just wish a happy birthday to one of your colleagues?
Ordinarily, I'd say I suspect it's because he's needed an attorney or two in his time, but I know there's a connection.

BTW, you guys are on your own tomorrow. It's visiting day at my son's camp in Maine. The trip is 2.5 hours, each way. My wife and I are being joined by my dad and my mother-in-law, who don't get along. And it's supposed to be 90 degrees tomorrow. I might just drive off the Maine Turnpike straight into a moose.

I did. You know I work with McLaughlin's brother, right? They're all at a party at the attorney's house. The attorney who Dan just wished a happy "50th" birthday is probably 35 at most. Kevin (Dan's brother) called it in as a joke. You'd have to know her to fully appreciate it. She's a complete bitch, and I'm sure she's plenty pissed about it.
ETA- Kevin just texted me and confirmed they were watching and the "birthday girl" isn't happy.

Too funny. Yeah, I figured McLaughlin's brother was behind it. He's a Boston College guy, right? Having once dated a B.C. girl, I have to give them credit in that they make for entertaining party guests.

He may get a hold.
Speaking of silly stats, did anyone else notice how Al has suddenly embraced the "quality start" now that Lackey has made seven or eight in a row?
